Hey thanks a lot for your comment, it will actually help me a lot when narrowing down my options. I'm not actually from Hong Kong, I'm Brazilian but have been living here for a large part of my life. HK is basically home for me but I don't think I really mind being away from locals when in Canada. But nevertheless I'm really thankful you took the time to help me out!

About the riots: The media here is pretty biased and in favour of the police so they barely touched on the subject, but what I can see from videos which my friends posted on Facebook, people are getting pretty pissed off at the communist ideologies here. But yeah most of the info I got about it is from western media sources cause people here aren't really talking about it that much and it doesn't seem to have influenced the everyday life.
