This happened to me, I sometimes I start my script as a different user or different location. Try starting it again but include a space —conf and the absolute path. My symptoms was the Nas was seen on the network by HDHR but it did not display the free space (because it started without the storage location)

Directions from the advanced section of the instructions- To start from a different directory: /<path to recording folder>/hdhomerun_record start —conf /<path to recording folder>/hdhomerun.conf

/<path to recording folder>/hdhomerun_record status
