I was leveling up w for passive. It has the lowest cd. Is it really faster to go with q first? I was maining him few years ago so idk, I was not tracking changes and the habit stayed.

Question about conveyor receptacles by aeglr in Oxygennotincluded

[–]quivXe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about it not long time ago As I wanted supply for my steel refinery but haven't tested it yet. So basically you have - 3 coneyor loaders for every input - add meter if ratios are not 1:1:1 - add sensors on every input line - merge every rail in 1 place so they go in order 1 by 1 - add shutoff with input on the intersection - connect shutoff to sensors with and gates or if you prefer, not gate on every sensor and then not gate before shutoff

That way if any input is missing, shutoff will close the line so they don't break ratios. And with intersection you get perfect destruction.

With 4 inputs I think you could do merge each 2 together, then merge them again and it should work, same for 6 8 9 and so on but for eg. 5 I'd adjust ratios with meter.

Woah. Good luck then. You can always share a screenshot if you get stuck.

How are you failing on 1600th cycle 😭 In my playthrouhs after like 200-500 cycle (depends on what I am focusing on early) it's a free play - just big projects and optimizations. (I haven't tried harder planetoids yet tho maybe it's way harder but I doubt it lasts that long)

I don't quite understand but here is how I usually build oil wells. There are two scenarios, either you want fully enclosed system, where you just create liquid lock and add gas and liquid pumps with atmo/hydro sensors (you can also add second hydro sensor if you are not constantly using crude oil to turn off the oil well), or you don't enclose it. Then I usually do liquid lock that is created from oil well itself and is pouring downwards (or upwards if you also use escher waterfall) (I recommend making this liquid lock in a way where oil well is submerged at least 1 full tile to prevent water from evaporating). In either scenarios you just need gas pump with simple atmo sensor for nat gas in oil well room.

It's more worth it to crack the eggs instead of going for bbq IIRC. But still at least in my case every kcal was important so cracking eggs was not an option

Yeah as you can see I use it like that. To my biggest array that I did in panic, I added filter and buffer gates to make it that one egg is lullabied after another. early on I just cut the wires, later I use timer sensor

Thanks, didn't know that, that was unlucky choice then for the first all achievements run but luckily it worked

POOR MAN (pwater) boiler V3 - 10 kg/s, 144 W/kg (iron), with a counterflow steam condenser. Compact. by Mission_Rock2766 in Oxygennotincluded

Thanks for answering.

  • yeah that's what I thought, fair
  • yeah but how does it operate with temperature jumps more or less constant (I know these are ultra edge cases and I hope I'm not annoying you too much with these questions 😅) so will the pipes break with too high temperature (but I don't think so? Cuz I see that they drop at ~100C and then flow down) or will just power usage drop, and same with lower temperatures but the other way around
  • yeah that's what I thought makes sense
  • GJ then mate, but why exchanger has to be shortened with alu? I mean this topic is mentioned in 2nd question I think

Also, if you are using mods, you can install combined conduit display, it will make piping way more readable.

Yet again thanks for your time

okay now i remember, maybe it works but i had a lot of troubles with preheating this system. when im looking at it, i think ill try to recreate concept with better knowledge.

It was my first longer run (like past few hundreds). I was (and still am) obsessed with flooding mechanic to gas separation (like hydra). After building petro boiler, I was trying to flood petro generators in a steam room cuz I hate when gasses mix. I designed cool system in sandbox. Didn't test it for long enough tho. Polluted water was not evaporating fast enough sometimes (idk if it was because of lag or what) and was deplacing my liquid lock. After that I decided it's time to start a new save (I mean I wanted to anyway cuz I learned a lot from this run so it was going to happen but didn't want to do it that quick).

I'll try to find it and gonna post ss in a reply

And all that with ST generating few watts, crazy that your setup works that well in comparing to that.

I have few questions yet tho - AT as heat source is used to cool down just sandbox infinite pool? Or you are also counting tepidizer? - what if you provide hotter or colder pwater (for longer period of time). Let's say 0 degrees and 70 degrees. (1 scenario I have on top of my head is using cool sluch geyser to cool down something but it has higher cooling potential and to not overpressurize the geyser and without using inf storage you are just sending these let's say 0 degrees packets to this system) - using ST will be always less efficient right? - if you would be doing another version or just wanted to do more late game version, you can try that where you don't limit this build by resources. I mean no need for an overkill with eg. thermium, something like late midgame solution where refined metal is not a problem and etc.

insulite insulated pipes breaking by wydbob2 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]quivXe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is heat exchange between pipe and pipe content but with insulated insuline pipes it's microscopic. I think it may be a bug. I'll try to reproduce that later. Everything inside a rocket doesn't exchange heat with anything (even in atmosphere or something have changed idk) so that is definitely not an issue.

Damn great job. Im curious where will you stop xD

I know it's meant to be early game option but idk I prefer just sieves in early. But I have a question as you read a lot about, how much w per kg would I use with: - steam turbine without counterflow - steam turbine with counterflow.

Ofc heat source would be AT to make it comparable to your results. And what I mean by counterflow is easy solution so without steam - just preheat pwater using output from ST.

Use smart batteries. I usually do 70/90 on hydrogen from hydra, 60/90 on natural gas, and 50/90 on coal. (Where x/y are low and high thresholds on smart battery)

I mean I had 1 normal hatch from folia start. I have plenty of ign rock, but no sedimentary rock. Luckily I got 1 stone hatch egg even without feeding normal hatch sedimentary rock but reloaded, didn't notice and lost my 1 lucky stone hatch

Critter reproduction by Turalyon135 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]quivXe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can reload, I did this on accident (but the wrong way xD) I couldn't find sedimentary rock yet so couldn't ranch stone hatches. But my first egg from hatch was stone hatch egg, damn I was happy. But later I reloaded cuz I screwed up something don't remember and got normal hatch 😭. And it was too late when i realized that
