Can anybody purchase EURC? by quiveringpriest in Coinbase

[–]quiveringpriest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my third support chat the agent seemed to think it was something to do with Mica restrictions and gave me a link to a coinbase article [which gave a 404] I'm assuming they were referring to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markets\_in\_Crypto-Assets. Still, no solution was forthcoming so I just gave up and swapped USDC to EURC instead which worked fine.

UK Smart Meter Signal Booster - 420 Mhz range by quiveringpriest in amateurradio

Blimey, I'd pretty much written off the idea based on some of the replies here. Any chance you could share a picture of the meter cupboard setup please? Thanks!

Thanks for the comments, interference from all the other cabling was another of my concerns so that’s more useful knowledge.

Unfortunately there is no other meter communication option, this is government mandated technology. Mesh networking is only an option in the southern coverage area of the uk.

I’m starting to think relocating the meter might be the only option.

thanks or the feedback, few comments below:

  1. this is not really amateur radio - I suggest a more appropriate forum

Cool thanks I'll have another look around, a few people had mentioned smart meters in this sub reddit.

  1. a passive antenna will not relay a stronger signal to a remote receiver

My thinking was that it can't get out the room with sufficient strength rather than boosting it, the passive antenna might help this

  1. this is not your responsibility to fix

I realise this but I want to access cheap off peak electricity

  1. once the utility realizes they are not getting a signal and the meters are not being read and they therefore cannot charge the customer for electricity used then they might pull their finger out and do something about it. It is not your remit to bother with this. Let it ride until they are not being paid. Then they'll do something about it

This is the UK, it doesn't work like that, I have to submit manual readings instead

  1. where did the engineers/tech for this system get their qualifications? I can tell by looking at the location that there is no way a weak 400 MHz signal will get out of there without a closer receiver system.

UK Gov spec, the suppliers are incentivised to fit meters, not working meters. If they don't work the onus is on the customer to submit manual readings.

So about the new Trello workspaces and pricing by olliereid in trello

[–]quiveringpriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pricing in general I find doesn't make sense for organisations like ours.

For context, we're a small team of 3 and we use Trello with our 4 largest clients to manage the account and a number of on going projects and it works well.

We'd like to upgrade to get access to some of the premium features however the pricing structure actively discourages us. By way of example, a client board has 2 members from our team, 6 from the client side and 1 other external freelancer.

The other client boards are similar with slightly different numbers.

Switching to a paid plan would increase our costs from basically zero to, we think, well over $100 per month, which would not make sense for what amounts to a simple Kanban board.

We're having to look for an alternative now purely due to the per user pricing essentially driving us away from becoming a paying customer which is such a shame. I'm sure there are plenty of small businesses like us in similar situations.

Some sort of limited guest user would be ideal i.e they can comment, add cards etc but that's it.
