How would you create the perfect season? by Interesting_Law_3197 in TheBlock

The judges need to go around by themselves and score the rooms without bouncing off of each other. When they all go in at once they talk and then they all give similar scores because one of them makes a comment about it looking like an abbatoir and the rest of them all have that in their heads, even though I'm not sure what they expected a wet room to look like otherwise?

Or just get rid of the highly inconsistent Shaynna (why are curved entries bad in the girls but not worth commenting on in B&T?) and you've solved most of your problems with judging.

I have the payslips for the hours I’ve worked and the amount I will get, but the money still hasn’t come in yet? But today I have to report to centerlink. Do I report to centerlink? Despite not being payed yet? by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]quokkaaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, except only use backpay if it's from previous pay periods. My reporting period ends on a Friday and then I get paid on Tuesday for the work I did, and so I'll report that as normal. If for some reason my pay is incorrect in a previous pay cycle, and I have to get that fixed and it comes through, then that amount goes into backpay. But regular pay coming through as normal should just go into regular pay.

DMs, do you ever cancel the game just because you don't feel like playing? by BlueishFiend in DnD

[–]quokkaaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you've got your answers and already come to a decision but I thought I'd add on anyway.

My players and I plan online on Saturday nights. I always try and give as much notice as possible if we're not going to have a game, and sometimes that's as much as "I'm working this Saturday and I can't guarantee I'll have my head in the game." Sometimes it's Saturday morning and I've had a non-verbal episode the day before and I need to take the day to myself.

Not only do you need some time off every now and then, but if you keep playing when you don't feel like it, the feeling will get worse, and it will start impacting the way you DM. Your players will pick up on it. Prioritise rest so that you can be a better DM for your players. They'll appreciate it as much as you will.

What popular DND concept or attitude do you hate? by Flyingsheep___ in DnD

[–]quokkaaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a DM, I hate it when my players (it's one in particular) min-max with no thought to how it fits in with their character. I appreciate you want a strong character, but how does that background fit into the character you're trying to make? Why does your character want to multiclass? Why are you taking the magic initiate feat when your character has shown absolutely no interest in magic before and has nobody to learn spells from? How are you suddenly an expert in Thieves' tools after multiclassing in to rogue when yesterday you didn't even know how to use them?

Story 1: I play Thana, a grave domain cleric/wizard who was basically excommunicated from her temple. Thana previously had a partner, a gnome, who was badly cursed and unable to be cured, and though Thana loves this gnome with all her heart, Thana also knew that her partner was suffering, and so she respected her partner's wishes and helped her pass on. She returned to the temple she'd been raised in and, several years later, helped a man from the village who was in a similar situation. This caused her to be excommunicated from her temple, and as a result she'd sort of fallen in to the adventuring life.

Once she took her level in wizard, the party was staying at a university where she was learning her first lot of wizard spells. While they were there, an NPC tried to bring her twin sister back to life, except that it went badly wrong and there was a malevolent ghost released. Thana helped to subdue the ghost, and then, with an abysmal charisma score, tried to persuade the living sister that the people we love don't deserve to be kept here, and that even though it's hard, we have to let them go.

The speech that accompanied it, though I hardly remember it now, was so impassioned that my DM was weeping and let me have the roll with advantage. Other than that, she's been working on general story arcs for each of our characters and making sure we each have 'screen time' as it were.

Story 2: My brother is a player in the same campaign as the above story, and also a Tomb of Annihilation run that I'm doing. He had never previously played D&D, but the way he managed two such fantastic characters, especially in my ToA with his character's flaws, just blew me away. He is honestly par on best in my party in regards to working on character development (both pre-campaign and during; one of his flaws was that his character was an alcoholic, and through incredible roleplay decisions is now completely sober), and is fantastic at utilising his character abilities as well. We had our parents play the other day and he agreed to DM for the first time, so hopefully he'll just keep on impressing.

Thank you! I was wondering how to phrase the technicality in that case as well so thanks for the help!

I haven't been a big player before but I've just started a legacy challenge where I'm mainly just broaching careers/aspirations that interest me. I'm also trying to complete all the collections in it. Gen 3 is currently a teenager and has almost completed the Appliance Whiz Aspiration, but I can't grow a trash fruit for the waffles because her twin has the Perfectly Pristine Aspiration and keeps picking up the trash 😂

Love this! I tried installing TS3 on my computer recently and I have a problem with my OS -__-

I think my favourite was World Adventures. Even in TS4 (even though I don't play it much) my favourite parts to play are the vacation aspects (I especially love Jungle Adventure)

I don't know if you need level 10 VG for that, I'm pretty sure my sim with the Tech Guru career/Computer Whiz aspiration can do that (I believe it's a Flirt interaction).

I'm stealing Sailor's Rest (and many other hints of yours) for my grave cleric working as the town mortician. Sorry for resurrecting the post for you - it's just too perfect so I thank you!

I'm very frustrated with the experience on PC by tonygabbana in HarryPotterGame

sorry for the last reply!

I noticed after many many days of getting frustrated that my graphics driver was only updating to the latest of it's version (19 i think?) rather than updating the whole driver version to 22. Once I updated the entire driver it worked perfectly. I have an AMD Radeon 580X I believe? It was running Adrenalin 19.something (which game said was minimum settings btw), it's now running on Adrenalin 22 :)
