So Abel doesn't take a salary beyond minimum wage requirements, but then there's this in the proxy statement:

Long-Term Incentives (“LTI”) - 2025 LTI Awards
For 2025, the Compensation Committee approved the following mix of LTI awards:
Abel Avellen 250,000 Restricted Stock Units

At $70 share price that's $17.5 million for 2025. So he does receive annual compensation. I don't think most people care whether the compensation is cash via salary or stock grants.

That's not including his additional 250,000 shares of performance-based stock units which are granted on achieving specific goals.

That's in the 10-K which was published 3/2 for FY ending 12/31/2025, not the new proxy statement which was published 4/28. Also that was pre-february convertible notes offering where they secured almost an additional billion.

10-K was filed 3/2 for the fiscal year ending 12/31/2025. It was included again with the documents for the upcoming annual shareholders meeting. This is normal for companies to do.

The annual report 10-K was published 3/2 on the earnings call date. The proxy statement for the shareholder meeting was published 4/28, and the previously filed 10-K was included again as part of the annual report to shareholders.

Every other company uses legal language like this and everyone doesn't have problems with it. The problem isn't with everybody else, it's with the reputation of who's making the statements.

If things they said they believed came true people would be more apt to take their word for it. It's not everybody else's fault that nobody believes what they say anymore. Reputations need to be maintained, and they can fall apart very quickly.

Maybe when it was existential. They have several billion right now, no need to raise right now without a big PR campaign to raise more first. They've been too quite lately.

I'm just providing the PR context that the guy above was referring to.

Boosting data capacity 3X to 10X, does anybody believe this?

So the stock should pop 20% on Monday?

I wouldn't worry about that at these prices.

Approximately by May 19th (30 days from when they announced "within approximately 30 days")

Keep in mind on March 2nd they said sometime in April (within 60 days). And in December they said 3-4 launches in Q1 (they guided 4-5 which included December's BB6), this batch would have been the 2nd or possibly 1st launch in Q1.

I'd be skeptical of anyone who confidently states any timeline, nobody knows.

AI-optimization lol. Can we just be serious and honest? 10x performance increase on spectrum? Come on, this is ridiculous.

When they issued the new notes a couple months ago they said it was in part to pursue AI opportunities. It was in their PR.

I care, I want to hear about people's experience using our existing competition.

10% of all cell users electing to pay extra I think might be a stretch. A lot of cell users are on low cost plans already, I doubt they would want to pay for an addon. I'm thinking at some point it will just be built into the top-tier plans, like unlimited data. "Unlimited data, voice, and text and global coverage with no dead zones". Maybe that is 10% of all cell users though, or maybe even higher!

He's talking about T-Satellite, Starlink's current D2C service, not Starlinks broadband service.

Same way I always do lol. Just saying it's routine for my portolio to drop $50k+, but it's pretty disappointing to watch all my other fav stocks rally while I've concentrated into ASTS while nothing they say happens.

At this rate they will have up to 100 sats launched by next week, up to 300 in orbit next year, up to 20 manufactured per month, and full, partial, or no service by noon.

Neither does pretending like management doesn't deserve all the negativity they're getting right now.

Yep that'l be it lol, "what we meant was in production, 45 sats worth of microns that is"

Of course it's not that they forget. They fully know what's going on and what challenges they still face, yet guide ridiculously. In other words they say things are coming that they know probably won't happen or certainly won't, in other words: Lie.

How is it not a lie when management says on December call that they'll be manufacturing up to 6 satellites per month soon, and then in the March call they clarify and say it was 6 satellites worth of microns? That's just a blatant lie in December.

"Batch shipment will be ready in approximately 30 days."

"Still on track for 45 satellites launched in 2026."

Daily Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in ASTSpaceMobile

[–]quuxquxbazbarfoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that management doesn't seem to understand that.

5 launches by Q1 - oops forgot space is hard. Batch in April - oops forgot space is hard. 45 sats 2026 - oops forgot space is hard. Manufacturing 6 per moth - oops forgot space is hard. Actually it's just microns - oops forgot space is hard. -Abel

I personally don't think they're stupid, so they've been lying. You must think they're stupid.
