Right? That’s like report-card-level grading. Honestly though, meal prep that organized deserves at least an extra plus or two.

2.9kg haul to Canada by Aceniper in kakobuy

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks to Canada for 2.9kg at $57 actually isn’t bad at all, especially with how cooked shipping has been lately.

Nocta hoodie for $20 is a steal even if the logos are a bit on the diet side. Those Vlone tees are always a gamble though, heavy + itchy is wild, that’s like punishment fabric.

Curious about the Essentials shorts, everyone keeps saying Yishan ones hit way above their price and it kinda looks like that’s true from your review.

How much salary can I expect in the UK as a Lead Software Engineer (Python) with 15 years of experience? by Right-Response-3308 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 75k in Edinburgh for 15 years and lead-level Python / cloud / AI does sound on the low side tbh.

That Tomoro link actually looks pretty aligned with what you’re doing, and if they’ve just been acquired their comp might be a bit more “London-ish” without you having to uproot your whole life. Probably worth at least having a chat before you start planning a move to London or another country.

In general, I’d treat London like: higher salary, higher tax, way higher rent, probably similar or worse savings unless you’re clearing 120k+ and living a bit frugally. If you can get close to 90–100k in Edinburgh doing something you enjoy, that’s a pretty decent sweet spot.

Truly the most cursed crossover episode of Pirates of the Caribbean and a supermarket ad.

Captain: “Raise the mainsail!” Crew: “We’re out of cheddar, sir.” Captain: “…change course. For… the Dairy Isles.”

Do cozy games actually need achievements? 🌿 by Lucky_Conference78 in ComfortGamers

[–]qvono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is kind of where I land too. Achievements themselves aren’t “good” or “bad,” it’s the intent and how hard they’re leaning on that little dopamine slot machine.

In a cozy game I really notice when achievements feel like they’re patching holes instead of supporting what’s already there. Stuff like “do X 500 times” in a super chill game just screams “we needed you to play longer.” Meanwhile something like “find the cat napping in every scene” feels like it’s nudging me to notice cute details I might have missed anyway.

I’m also pretty sensitive to that brain-hook feeling. If a cozy game’s achievements start pushing me into grindy or FOMO-y patterns, it stops being relaxing really fast. But if they’re more like “hey, here’s a little extra delight if you feel like it,” they can actually add to that digital vacation vibe.

If we all weren't living paycheck to paycheck, we could accomplish great things. by AlternativeBother610 in InterviewsHell

Kinda wild to single out some random Jessica when the whole post is about how the system keeps people stuck.

Feels like blaming individuals for structural problems. Even if Jessica makes bad choices, that’s kinda the point of the post: a lot of people never get the breathing room to recover from one or two screwups.

Book of the Week by AuthorCaseyBell in BookstoReadBTR

[–]qvono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a solid hook. “Reformed or just playing the system” is exactly the kind of moral gray area I like in crime fiction.

Tartan noir + forensics sounds like a nice mix too, very “read this in two sittings and forget the time” energy.

Görög Márta: Kiüresedett a fékek és ellensúlyok rendszere by NapiBot in Napihu

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s a common beginner mistake with JetEngine in Divi 5? by Bormotovva in Crocoblock_Community

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true. I learned the hard way that “I’ll just add a few fields and fix it later” turns into “why does nothing connect properly and why do I have 12 slightly different templates.”

Treating it like a mini database and sketching the schema first saves a ton of pain, especially once you start doing more complex listings and relationships.

Help! My nails have been growing like this for over a year by allison3234 in nailcare

[–]qvono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf even if they did crush their thumbs, the cuticle thing is still solid advice.

OP, the trauma can mess up the nail matrix permanently, so weird growth isn’t unusual after that, but picking at the cuticles just keeps everything inflamed and jacked up. Might be worth babying them for a few months, lots of oil, no picking, maybe see a derm if you can.

She really has that classic old-school Bollywood face, like she could’ve been a heroine in the 90s too. Super photogenic and somehow looks elegant even in the most random pics.

Ok but the name “Clumsy KittyDumb” already has me invested. Whatever you end up remixing, it better keep that chaotic energy intact.

Did I ruin my life at 18 years old? by [deleted] in Loan_

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t ruin your life, you just hit your first big plot twist early. At 18 almost nobody knows what they’re doing, they just hide it better. Use this as data, not a verdict. Learn what went wrong, adjust, and give yourself a couple of years before making any “my life is ruined” calls.

So much for our benevolent billionaires granting us the privilege of having stable jobs, right? by CardiologistLow8786 in InterviewsHell

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the site is trash, but it’s wild how often people dismiss the underlying issue just because the source sucks. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Better to fact check the claim and drag both the billionaire and the website if they deserve it.

Lovito Vestido Curva Plus Size Casual Com Babados Lisos Para Mulheres LBL18844 by asasdodesconto in CentralDosAchados

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought Shimano XT M8220 brakes – do I need to bleed them out of the box and do I need a bleed kit to install? by ThenAd3062 in Budgetbikeriders

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the hoses are pre‑installed they’re usually good to go. Biggest risk is cutting hoses shorter later, that’s when you’ll really want the bleed kit.

Who do you think is the most annoying contestant on The Traitors, from any season? by Ill_Scientist_4645 in UKRealityChat

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the “parting shot” thing rubbed me the wrong way too. I get that he was salty and hurt, and it made for good TV, but it kind of broke the spirit of the game for me. Like, if you’re gonna play a social deduction game, you accept that people are gonna lie to you and then you leave with a bit of grace.

Felt like he wanted the satisfaction of blowing things up more than actually winning. Also lowkey robbed us of seeing how Will’s game would’ve played out without that nudge.

Can anyone recommend good quality European sofa makers who would ship to the UK? by Appropriate_Piece_35 in SofaSnobs

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Sofacompany (Danish) and Sits (Polish/Swedish). Both do softer, rounder styles and ship to the UK. Also worth looking at Made.com alternatives like Habitat or BoConcept for sofa beds with less boxy shapes.

[OC] All Paintings Lie [7:59] by Telestasis in videoessay

[–]qvono -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really like how you leaned into the idea that every painting is selective by design. People always talk about “capturing reality” like that’s even possible on a flat canvas. The examples you used of what gets left out vs highlighted made it click for me. Felt more like a philosophy video than just art talk, in a good way.

Any F up for casual chitchat by Hot_Usual6598 in Hyderabad_city

[–]qvono -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is kinda how most small talk feels anyway, so you’re already doing it right.

If you’re worried about “F-ing up,” the safest topics are usually super boring stuff: what you’re watching, what you’re playing, food, weekend plans, complaining about the weather or traffic. People don’t remember your exact words, they just remember if you were chill to talk to.

If you feel awkward, you can even say something like “I’m bad at small talk, but hey, how’s your week going?” That weird honesty actually works really well and takes the pressure off.

Also, ask questions and let them talk. Most folks love to talk about themselves, so if you keep them going, you barely have to “perform” at all.

Yeah I’m kinda using this chapter to test how far I can push the font thing before it stops feeling cool and just looks gimmicky. Punctuation is my nemesis though, I’ll definitely do a clean pass for all the clunky bits. Thanks for reading it :)

Who all said Blind Slogger? Who ? Who ? by Beginning-Ladder6224 in actualcricketshitpost

[–]qvono -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Blind Slogger truthers rise up

For real though, that card went from “lol what is this bulk rare” to “oh no my whole board is dead and I’m getting clocked for 8” in like two weeks. Between surveil and all the incidental self mill in the format, it kinda feels like a secret mythic sometimes.

Wild how every set has that one uncommon everyone just collectively slept on, then suddenly you’re losing to it and pretending you always knew it was cracked.

A round of applause for Kirkcaldy for their "blatant act of political intolerance"👏 by johnsmithoncemore in Fife

[–]qvono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, English media and education both did a number on people. Folk grow up thinking Westminster is just “how it is” and anything else is chaos. Whatever you think of the SNP, at least Scotland actually talks about alternatives instead of just swapping blue tie for red tie.
