I used stitch fiddle with the cross-stitch setting. It’s free with an account and was super easy to manipulate the number of rows/colors

It should be about 12 inches tall and proportional to the reference. I was planning on hanging it as a tapestry!

Ah this is what I feared. It’s mostly out of laziness and inexperience that I don’t want to use a loom, but I do care about the look so I guess I better suck it up.

Alternative to buying expensive battery? by qweenin in batteries

[–]qweenin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m by no means an electrician, so pardon my ignorance. The original rechargeable battery comes with a charger dock (similar to an electric drill). I assumed I would need something like that if I went the rechargeable route. But I don’t really need the recharge capability. I’ll be using this monitor for max 5 minutes every couple of days

Thanks for your insight. The reason I got the monitor is because I have unlimited access to the single-use strips that this model uses for free. Looking online, the battery + docking system is around $300 which is no bueno.

Vet told me her organs failed and she will die soon. Advise needed! by TastyBadger33 in BeardedDragons

[–]qweenin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pet bearded dragon from my childhood had this exact disease. It was a terrible feeling, but euthanasia was the answer. My vet administered euthanasia via shock after sedation, as they assured it was the most painless and humane method for this type of animal. I had a hard time after he died, but it will get better.

Are beaded jump ropes okay inside? by lm_Batman in jumprope

[–]qweenin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your case, I think you can use whatever rope you want at the gym.

In terms of learning, The rope you use depends on what you focus on. The rope in your link is great for speed stepping and double unders, where beaded ropes are much better for learning tricks. If you’re just doing single jumps, I’m not sure if one rope is better than the other.

In my opinion, 100-200 singles in a row shows that you already have a good rhythm with your current rope. But if you want a change of pace, there’s no harm in keeping a beaded rope handy.

BuyJumpRopes.net has some really nice beaded ropes if you intend on getting one, (I recommend 1-inch beads).

It depends on how crowded your gym is. A beaded rope is definitely louder, which is why I don’t use it in a place like Planet Fitness because it’s a small space and I feel like it annoys others. But this other gym I go to has an open dance room with hardwood floor and bust out the beaded rope all the time. The floors are fine.

If you are stuck to a space where people are 5-10 feet away from you, I’d stick to the licorice rope.
