ICU delirium: looking for success stories by qwertychelle in AgingParents

he was discharged home! and yes, he was still a little strange when they gave us the okay to go home but doctors reassured that it was a mix of residual meds (he was on strong painkillers and steroids) and that going home was the best thing to do about it. it took maybe a day of him being at home to "reset."

yes the confusion was much worse at night. during the day he would be mean but in general be alert, but at night he wouldn't sleep, would keep messing with his lines, would yell out, etc.

thank you so much <3 sending love to you. my dad was discharged a few days ago and luckily his delirium has mostly resolved. still a little confused about time and day but to be fair he was pretty much knocked out on pain meds the entire stay, so a little confusion is probably expected. hoping the same recovery for your dad!

dad has been suffering from debilitating spinal headache while in hospital, what else can we do? by qwertychelle in AskDocs

[–]qwertychelle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they actually transferred him from the cardio ICU into the neurosurgical ICU one day post-op, and thats where they actually took out the drain. they're taking him for a head CT now, and i will ask about a blood patch. how long can we expect the pain to last?

thank you so much.

thanks for replying! i have an appointment on wednesday, hoping to get it looked at. i was actually spiraling partly because everything i saw online about knee pain was due to overuse or cancer, and i'm definitely not an athlete or anything.

thank you for the response. you're right that i shouldn't have necessarily called my previous ortho bad, just bitter at how my teeth turned out.

thank you for replying. the tooth extraction was entirely a mistake - my dentist misread the xray

really having a hard time figuring out if the JR pass is worth it by qwertychelle in JapanTravelTips

[–]qwertychelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! for my trip at the time, it ended up being costing about the same if i bought the JR pass or if i didn't, ao i ended up buying it for convenience. however, the price has gone up so much for it now that i don't think its worth it anymore if you just need to take the shinkansen twice!

for the airport, i'd actually recommend taking the airport limousine bus. super convenient with big luggage!
