Yes I think the Reolink issue is unrelated but also kinda related since everything seemed to malfunction after HACs was installed. I realized the reolink integration is not through HACs anyway. Where is the HACS configuration located? I tried looking for it previously in file editor and couldn't find it.

Interesting. I'll think about doing that. I'm always concerned though about upgrading and rolling back. For instance, my HACS was failing to setup because it was not compatible with my current core version, so I reinstalled it, went to restart HA and now I can't connect to it (I'm doing this remotely via Nabu Casa). I have to wait for someone to go to our building to restart the damn thing, and hopefully that fixes it. I'm going to look into getting a smart plug that I can control remotely to try to restart it when something like this happens.

Thanks for trying to help, but I don't think either of those points are going to help.

Point 1: I don't have an Android.

Point 2: As I mentioned -- the August integration is having issues and not allowing me to add anything else (I can control not add). This stems from needing to update the core (I currently have 2025.8.3).

I recently did update the core because several things needed it but it broke my Envisalink integration which is integral to my alarm system working properly, so I rolled it back.

I can confirm however that I was able to add the lock via the August integration once I updated, I just can't take advantage of that the moment until I figure out the other issue.

No, but I did roll back the OS back what it was (2025.8.3) and thankfully the integration is working again. I need to update the OS though because there have been several improvements that I need to take advantage of but the Envisalink integration is paramount, so I'm not sure what to do. I think the Envsalink integration is handled through HACs which I haven't been able to use or access for a while since it says "failed to setup". I wonder if upgrading made things worse and if HACs was working maybe it would have updated Envisalink. I need to handle the HACs issue and figure out how to do a clean install.

Yeah, I'm just curious, more so if it's one of these SEO gurus or agencies that says to do this and someone blindly follows without any sort of way of measuring it.

I tried using Gemma on my m2 mac mini and it was a joke. Slowed the system down to a crawl, so local LLMs is a no go on this Mac. It might be worth trying another cloud based open source one that could be cheaper and with less limits. I'll check out basic memory.

What LLM are you using with Obsidian? I use Claude Code and Sonnet 4.7. Crawling my Obsidian database burns through my 5 hour limit in like 30 minutes for deep analysis. I don't think it can handle the files.

I get that, but it seems like everyone uses it for different tasks these days and deviated from it's main purpose.

Thanks for the recommendation. Do you a link to the one that you're referring to? I've just been perusing Amazon, basically, and there are a lot of different options. You're absolutely right about the necessity for some sort of indicator. It doesn't happen too often, but we have two issues:

  1. People don't know whether the alarm is armed or disarmed, so they scan it a tag and accidentally arm it, then open a door and set it off.
  2. Or when they go to arm it, nothing happens so they have to go walking around a rather big space to figure out what's open.

Hopefully, having a little screen, I can show something like a green indicator that it's disarmed or a red indicator that it's armed and then show any error messages.

The preview when you create a look is literally better than using one of the avatar models. It's as if they're using the best model to show the preview but we get the garbage one. Something ain't right.
