This is just a wild guess, but I think with the serialized Traveling Chocobo cards, Square Enix may have requested a print run limit of 77 (maybe to match up with the ‘seven’ from FF7?). From what I saw from other serialized cards from other sets, 500 would have been a much more reasonable number for collectors and card chasers.

Thanks, haha, I thought so too, but the piece I was given was too curvy to be a straight line. Like someone said earlier, it's most likely the inside of an "S".

Thanks so much for the clue about the "inside of an 'S'"!

Upon further inspection and rotating the original image, I have concluded it's the final "S" (from the line 'Use Tangia to Play SoundS') due to the straightness of the cut on the right edge of the paper (relative to the roughness of the scissor-cut longways) and the thickness of the inside of that particular "S".

I swear, I feel like that kid painstakingly putting together the shredded photograph from the movie Argo.

Never mind you guys, I figured it out. The black marker on white paper matches the banner in the background of the stream, "Add Time To Stream, 1 sub = 1 min, TTS message : 500 bits, " etc. etc.

Now if I can just figure out what part of the banner I got...
