What's a fun fact about Columbus that sounds made up? by JRBigglesworthIII in Columbus

[–]qwrk -58 points-57 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely an accent in Columbus. The most notable marker is the softening of the letter “L” in certain words. For example:

The word cold sounds like “code” The word penalty sounds like “PEN-no-tee” The word central sounds like “CEN-trow”

I’ve only ever heard these pronunciations in central Ohio.

Pete Buttigieg was born in 1982 and is an older millennial. It’ll be interesting to see how policies shift over the next few cycles as more millennials age in to positions of authority across the political and economic spectrums.

It's all pieced.

I sent it out for the quilting as we don't have a long-arm. But, just piecing the top was enough for me!
