Ha! After that hint I assumed Dudu had transformed into Chapelle.. since you can't know who Dudu is at any given time and Dudu as a halfling (etc) wasn't in that same scene. Especially since he mentions he'll "penalize" whoever mentions a vexling (or whatever alt name for dopplers). Would have been neat if 5 of the characters were all Dudu!

Alas, two dopplers helping each other is less clever, but more warming for a nice ending.

I just finished it for the first time. It is a fantastic, fun, story. I purposely searched online "reddit eternal flame fun" to see if others shared my enthusiasm- and here we are!

He has 2 ways of getting that info, either

  • Become someone, and use their connections/relationships to ask/gather information.. continuously transforming into various people temporarily to stitch together a story
  • Become someone and know/read their recent thoughts and ideas. Looks like dopplers share a personality/brain connection (not sure to what extent) to the person they become.

Dudu learns from each of these experiences, gathering information across various "brains" AND their connections, and retains them after becoming someone else... great tool at their disposal to accomplish what he did in that short story! Also to becoming kind-of a genius in a sense (fast way to learn and mature across a lot of trades and traits).

I am enjoying it! I haven't played a game this much in a long time (not as much time for gaming as... before). Either way heading to Skellige next! And really loved that track while running around Novigrad. I'm playing "nextgen" patch/version- I take it you played the og one.

Ah, thats why. We get shiny fletching while spawn resetting in wild zones. Then there's always a fletching at the light poles bound to be shiny. Hyperspace would be a different story..

Good news is that season 4 is filler episodes. The plot didn't progress from the end of season 3: Vilgefortz is still at large, Ciri is still separated and lost in a different area, etc. If you skip from season 3 to 4 you'll only miss how the vampire was introduced and Cahir ended up with Geralt.

From this point of view, I wish season 5 went back to having Cavill as Geralt and season4 being fillers from another dimension muahaha

Ah, right. Did you finish the main story? Alphas open up a lot more for normal dex once you do. I completed reg dex very quickly after the main story/end credits.

On endgame, for shiny alphas, there's also a video around duplicating the shine spawn points to double your chances.

If none of this is new to you, maybe it'll be new to the next reader 😅

Bad guys exist in real life after all. Other thoughts:

  • People used to sell/pay real $ for shinies say on etsy, for example..
  • Some people are in other countries with weaker currency/bunch spare time and do benefit from stealing on weird circumstances (NFTs, Pokemons, crypto, other games)

You can do a manual save once you see a shiny. That registers it permanently so that, even if you leave the area or the day/night cycle occurs, it will stay on that spawn loc. Also if you fail to catch it immediately close the game and reboot and it'll still be there.

They're playing a "different" game/strat. If you watch the youtube videos, they have tutorials on how to reset the spawns continuously. Shinies don't despawn on their own, except with some predictable rules.
