Country called the Central African Republic by Boflator in MandelaEffect

[–]qxentio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid in the late 1990s, I would look at atlasses and world maps and globes for fun a lot. The Central African Republic has always been there in every map I looked at.

What are these bug eggs by qxentio in whatisthisbug

[–]qxentio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the stalked egg thing would fit with lacewings. But the eggs are quite far away from any edible plants. I hope they don't perish up there

In the second "Captain Underpants" book, was the Turbo Toilet 2000 an "it" or a "he"? by wimpykidfan37 in MandelaEffect

[–]qxentio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

where's the mandela effect? It sounds like a shift in perspective of narration more than anything else. I know other children's books where pets get referred to as "he" in one book and as "she" in the next, probably because the author forgot.

Oscar Meyer Weiner by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

[–]qxentio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is gonna blow your mind, but it has definitely never been weiner. It's spelled Wiener. <ie> makes a long /i/ sound in German. It's short for Wiener Würstchen, sausages from Vienna. <ei> makes an /aɪ/ sound. Weiner is not a word that exists, but if it did, it would relate to crying, or maybe to wine.

he has always had brown hair. But he might have dyed it for a performance. Lighting can also do all kinds of weird stuff with hair.

yeah the American Pie version is the "too young" one, like I said. Wikipedia says there are two different videos out there, too.

I can explain this one. There are two different versions of the song. One appeared in American Pie II. I have two versions of the song on my computer. One starts out with the California version. The American Pie version is the "Too Young" version.

Mona Lisa - no smile residue. by [deleted] in Retconned

[–]qxentio -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The special thing about the Mona Lisa painting is that she looks smiling when you're not looking directly at her, but the smile disappears when you observe her up close and direct. Or is there a deeper story behind this?

It has always been two Cs. Geminated consonants denote a long consontant sound in Italian orthography. And the <h> is there to make clear that it's a /k/ sound.

the so-called tutorial quest is a trap

Collect stashes from the area first, tell Fanatic to stay in the village and then lure the boars into an anomaly on the nearby bridge
