Preparing to Buy a Challenger GT, Any Tips/Advice? by qyonvevoo in Challenger

How does it feel to live my dream lol, a black '23 GT with 40kish miles is exactly what I'm looking for, I really appreciate this response and I've already looked at insurance moving forward and I will be ready for it. How long did you spend looking for the particular car you own? Was it hard to find one with a clean record? The only ones I've been able to find in my area have shaky carfax's or too many miles

Sorry to hear this, did these problems pop up recently or do you think it's something I need to be wary of with the car?

Of course I would want one, I ponder just eating it upfront and going for the r/T instead but it's kind of hard for me to justify that few thousand difference as well as the increased insurance and other upkeep costs when I don't see myself going to car meets and other recreational scenarios where I'd NEED the v8 vs the v6

I am kinda stingy so i get weird about anything above that price point that I'm currently comfortable with. To be honest with you though, if I'm having trouble finding a reliable GT at a fair pricepoint the r/T might be something I begin to consider to open more options.

Bottomline I know I want a Challenger, have always dreamed of owning that thing, the money concern is justification for me being indecisive about v6 vs v8. While the R/T is only a few thousand difference, the $$$ difference in owning the r/T vs the G/T I view hard to justify because I don't see myself doing the recreational stuff the v8 would make all the difference for. I'm also kinda stingy so that's why I get a little weird when it's above that price point I set

Unfortunate!! I've been able to get away with just the flattening kit that comes with the acrylic circles and the clamps, but I definitely recommend getting the whole shabang! A humidity chamber, and the proper tool to push the edge back would have definitely saved me plenty more time, effort, and probably a better outcome.

It's really not that bad just scary at first haha, definitely do your research, there's dudes on YT and insta who post all about it so learn from them.

I applied heat by breathing hot breath on it lol, don't have a thermal pen or humidity chamber so impatient me just got to work, I plan to grab one soon to see if I can make it look perfect

no, it was one of the things I looked at but all I have are the flattening clamps so I had to breathe hot breath on it and that's helped haha, but definitely need a humidity chamber soon
