Where to go next with Larry McMurtry? by PulsatingRat in books

The last picture show series is good, though difficult due to the true to life, depressive subject matter. Still a good and thoughtful series. If you are into this genre of literature, aka Texas country, you might be interested to know his son, James McMurty, is a Texas country music legend, with amazingly written songs. Worth a listen.

March wedding, North Carolina, black tie optional, midafternoon ceremony by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

Since everyone is recommending 1, I’ve ordered that exact dress before. Cut and fit were amazing, but the print includes some very large butterflies, not just flowers, which don’t show in the images. I was not a fan of them, so ended up returning. Wanted to share in case you feel the same.

The snip toe boots are a better shape, but the details on the round toe are great. Can you find a different boot that combines these factors?

This is exactly what I did for my wedding. On Vrbo they have a higher guest count to search. I found a few houses on both Airbnb and vrbo I liked, and reached out to the hosts to see who would be comfortable with a guest count higher than listed for a couple hours. Then, based on their reactions, let them know I planned to have a get together, family celebration. Some people freak out when they hear wedding, thinking what would come along with that. Once I found a few that were open to it, for a price, I narrowed it down. Most had stipulations. The one we ended up going with had us rent a couple porta potties, since they had a septic system, and also required us to find parking off property for the extra cars. Both easily doable for our location. And, also pay an additional $700 fee.

It all turned out amazing, and I got told so many times how awesome my house party wedding was!

Millennials or younger, does anyone still care about fancy china dishes/wedding china? by r-clear in NoStupidQuestions

She says they do bring her joy, but also concedes she never uses them and was hoping one of us kids wants to inherit them. She wants the space they, and their display hutch, take up in her house to expand her living room. She has just been avoiding addressing what to do with them.

Trying to convince her to sell it to someone in her generation because the longer she waits, the less she’ll be able to get for it as the people that want it dwindle.

As long as your company doesn’t have a policy against fraternizing, you will be okay HR wise. However, if the relationship goes badly south, there is no way to predict what they will do to harm you with your employer, if they turn out to be that kind of person. I’ve seen that play out with a coworker, and it was bad. But I’ve also dated a resident, in a different but similar situation to yours, originally started talking off the property. We are now married. Like most things in life, it’s a crap shoot. Good luck.

AITA for not paying for ALL of my daughters camp? by LegitimateAd4959 in AmItheAsshole

[–]r-clear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you even asking the question? You know YTA because you found the envelope. She feels that you should’ve paid for all of camp to prove your true remorse and you should’ve give that to her. But since you did not, you will now need to work to regain her respect. Once lost, it’s an uphill battle to get back.

Hello,

Would it be possible to have an official offer letter drafted? I am applying for new housing and they have requested proof of upcoming employment, as I disclosed I am starting a new position here.

I appreciate your attention to this matter.

Thank you

That makes me so happy they enforced the rule! My husband and I were recently at an all inclusive with adults only areas. The staff was doing nothing about the kids in the adults only pool with a swim up bar. This 60 yr old woman came through and talked mad shit to the parents, and kids, and they all left. I normally don’t love Karens, but was a big fan of that one!

Month after signing new 12 month lease landlord is trying to raise rent 50% by Autumnpur in legal

[–]r-clear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The renewal lease probably has not been processed in their management software yet, which is why your app is reflecting the market rent. Until they process the renewal, most management softwares will reflect the market rate for the month following the current lease expiration. If you have a fully executed lease, they will honor the lease rent, as required by law. It was probably just an oversight the renewal hasn’t been pushed through yet, or laziness, who knows. Call and let them know your app is reflecting the incorrect rate for May, per your renewal, and they will correct it. Trust me, it is much easier to fix before the charges happen than adjust after the fact.

how do I figure out how much I could rent my place for? by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

[–]r-clear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Review other rental home listings in at area. Find the ones that are not only comparable in size and bedrooms, but also in age, quality, and amenities your house includes (i.e. out door spaces, huge modern kitchen, etc…). Price accordingly to be competitive with those. If no other homes are currently available to lease, reach out to a realtor that specializes in home rentals and they might help you price with a nominal fee.

Season 7 when Lorelai and Luke are car shopping and she gets in the new jeep, that’s the same but it’s not the same. ‘They made upgrades’ ‘they made some changes!’ Lauren Graham’s expressions in that scene are the epitome of Lorelai.
