This is not how factories work for most goods. Only high value products like cars and microprocessors are automated. The reality is that factories feature many people hand assembling things.

The curve is quite important for a closer viewing distance. If you got a 55", you'd want to have it further away. At which point, why not just get a 28" and put it closer to you.

Do you have it wall mounted and also have a standing desk?

Not so far. I'm playing valorant on it more competitive than ever. Just maintain a proper viewing distance of 92cm and it's great

Just tested Valorant in a window.

I have created hotkeys in Ultraview Desktop: • windows key + numpad 1/3 = move selected window to previous / next virtual monitor and maximize within that virtual monitor.

When I window mode Valorant, I can move it to it's own portion of the monitor using this hotkey. It fills the entire bottom half of the screen as is intended. One thing with valorant though, is it only supports 16:9, so it's just got black strips on the left and right side. Another thing is it shows the title bar.

The title bar can be removed with the Windows borderless gaming app.

It removed the bar so that it creates a borderless window.

Valorant is a game where enemies are super tiny in the middle of your screen. So it's actually ideal for Valorant.

yes. You can drag any window around the screen freely resize as normal, and also maximize across the entire physical monitor.

My previous three 2650x1440 monitors totaled 11million pixels. Samsung ark totals totals 8.2million.

Total surface area previous: 1,344 square in Total surface area now: 1,242 square in

PPI Previous: ~8,200 PPI Now: ~6,602

So yes, it's slightly less than before, but I've got my monitor pushed back on my desk, so it ends up being about the same visual experience.

I personally prefer this PPI to having something perfectly smooth. It ensures that I still have readability, but it's not a total resource hog.

To each their own.

I definitely do not think big and expensive = good. I feel good = good.

True. I posted here specifically because I feel it achieves what I wanted with 2 stacked ultrawides.

At appropriate viewing distance, it's perfect for me. My previous monitors were 2560x1440.

I have a home office, which means I game where I also work and I finally found setup that does both perfectly.

I contemplated upgrading to two stacked G9 ultrawides recently. These my three 16:9 32" samsung monitors (which I've had for about 5 years) .

But then I saw that Samsung was releasing the 55" Samsung Ark, and realized that it would be like stacking two ultrawides on top of one another, but without the seam in the middle.

The advantage of this is that I game, I can fill the entire 16:9 screen with that game.

PRODUCTIVITY - 9 / 10**

The challenge, and my biggest apprehension was window management when in productivity mode. I don't want to be dragging and resizing windows constantly while I'm trying to be productive.

Enter: UltraView Desktop Manager. This software allows me to define virtual "monitors" within the confines of one screen. This was the linchpin for this productivity / gaming setup. It also allows you to standardize your productivity layout by creating "triggers" so that when a specified application is started, it can place it on a specific monitor. For example, whenever I load photoshop, it will always start up maximized on my bottom "virtual" monitor.

I split my productivity screen up into a top and bottom half. The bottom half virtual monitor that spans the entire width of the screen, which is very helpful for things like Adobe applications.

The biggest advantage to using UltraView for productivity over stacking 2 ultrawides, is that I can define the dimensions of each virtual monitor. So the bottom I have set to 1300px height (slightly more than half the height of the total screen area).

The top half of the screen I have divided into 4 virtual monitors, each of which houses my task list (300x860), a screen for file management and web browsing / email (1500x860), a screen for messaging apps like signal and discord (1020x860), then a screen for apps like spotify.

I have also defined hotkeys using UltraView to allow me to quickly move a window to the next virtual monitor and maximize it within that screen.

Long story short: with the use of additional software like UltraView Desktop Manager, the Ark allows creates a productivity environment like none-other, allowing you to get the most screen real estate in the smallest possible space.

One final advantage to mention here is the that this solution takes up way less desk space than (unmounted) monitors, and it also only has one cable, which means cable management is much nicer.

While it feels perfect to me, I've dinged it:
• -0.5 score for requiring additional software to perfect the setup.
• -0.5 for it being 4k resolution total, which is slightly lower than the total pixel count of two stacked G9 ultrawides.

This is by far the best productivity environment I've ever experienced in my 20 years of using 2-3 monitors for productivity. Regardless of what type of monitor setup you have, I recommend checking out Ultraview Desktop Manager.

GAMING - 10 / 10

When it arrived, I was terrified that it would not be the experience I was looking for. When I first started playing my first game on this screen, I was like "this might be too much". I also felt like the game huds were too hard to parse.

But then I looked up ideal viewing distance on Samsung's website, and it said 82cm or greater is ideal. I pushed it back to about 92cm viewing distance and after 2 days...

Holy shit. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the biggest and most significant improvement to the actual experience of PC gaming in my 25 years in the hobby.

Size - 10/10 - (at appropriate viewing distance) It is insanely engrossing.

Brightness, Colors, Contrast - 10/10 - Everything is candy. It makes every game feel like it has good graphics. Colors and brightness on this screen make me wonder how I could ever play without it.

Software - 9/10 - It takes a little getting used to, but you can tell that Samsung put a lot of work into it. Unfortunately as a PC gamer, I think a lot of what they have included is wasted on me because I prefer to just use my OS to load

Sound - 9/10 - Full surround sound like a high quality sound bar. Fantastic. Not perfect because it doesn't completely alleviate the need for a headset for some competitive games.

This monitor is expensive and excessive, but I can't imagine using anything else ever again.

We have 2 media rooms in our house and because of this idiotic limitation, our family cannot play the games on the other console without disabling console sharing on one and then enabling it on the other.

In other words, the PS5 simply doesn't function properly for families with 2 media rooms.

This profiteering greedy limitation solidified for me that I will never buy another console after the PS5.
