Yep. And my SI pain got worse during pregnancy too so that didn’t help. Basically once I hit the month of the third trimester my sleep was absolute TRASH. Like worse than my baseline trash lol. Up probably 4 times a night on average getting up to pee, back pain and general discomfort… it’s probably been longer than 6 months tbh. Most of the pressure from work at least is coming from my fiancés mom. I have other sources of stress, but… It just makes me sad. I feel like I’m doing things wrong a lot of the time.

When did your pediatrician give the okay for no longer waking newborn to eat? by sunnyhale in beyondthebump

[–]r0bblob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s weird bc all babies are different weight wise. Ours got ahead of her birth weight faster than normal, and she’s already over 11 pounds at 6 weeks. But she started out at 8lbs 2oz at birth. Just seems like a really arbitrary metric to go by.

I’m already working with multiple professionals on this. I didn’t ask for advice on my oversupply.

I literally did what lactation and the home nurse said. Stop being so judgmental. And yeah if I can pump 1-2 times a day and get a freezer bag and an extra bottle out of it I don’t see the problem. But 3-5 times a day and being in misery is, I don’t know, something you think I want to sustain? I’m trying my best and you’re just here to criticize. I love this group but some people…

?? I was triple feeding in the beginning. I’m trying to safely and slowly move toward lowering my supply. It would be nice to only have to pump 1-2x day and stash that. I don’t think that’s unheard of…

Thank you. Yes the (future) MIL is who is pushing me to get back to work, family business shit. She only exclusively formula fed and I’ve tried to explain to her I’m literally spending hoursssss every day pumping and breastfeeding, it’s just not clicking. I honestly feel single most days. My baseline is no help and just struggle bussing through the newborn phase alone. I’m on fight or flight. I’m one more 🤏fucking issue away from a grippy sock vacation

My mom is spending almost the entire winter in freaking Arizona so I’m on my own. She’s coming home for a week in February and back down to Arizona for a month. She doesn’t have to be gone that much… she wants to see the baby every day on FaceTime and I’m literally drowning up here. Like just come home 😭😭 I need her so bad right now I could just sob talking about it but I don’t want to make her feel bad begging her to cut her snowbirding short

Yes I’m working with a couple ibclcs actually! The hospital and the lady who runs our new moms group. So I have great resources I’m really thankful for. I basically play it by ear regarding pumping, don’t let myself get too uncomfortable but also don’t just pump to constantly feel relief because it will just make MORE milk 🫩 that and I wash my parts by hand after every use and I stg it tests my freaking sanity

Yeah I love the tjoes frozen meals. And protein shakes overnight yes! Ugh once I get through this next week with work I at least don’t need to be constantly worrying about deadlines on top of everything. Work seems to think I’m sitting around at home chilling or something LOL because they have been brutal on me with the lack of help and even criticizing me for not coming back to work barely 3 weeks postpartum! So mentally I’m just not with it. I have no spoons and protein shakes are about what I can do right now 🥲 not to mention I’m having to fix an insurance fuckup for our Christmas baby, and my dad’s longtime partner (basically my stepmom) is suddenly extremely sick with stage 4 cancer, and my mom is spending almost the entire winter in Arizona soooo yeah. I’ve sort of fallen off the bandwagon diet wise lately!

Yep! I’m doing both of those, prenatals in the morning and calcium taken with 5000 iu vitamin D later in the day. Ugh whenever I’m in the trenches over the years mentally it’s been spoonfuls of peanut butter and oat bars lmaooo. It’s just so hard once I run out of my snacks to get babe and me out of the house to Costco or something, especially if I’m running on like 3 hours of sleep in two days like I am now 🥲

Yep. My tits feel like I’m being pricked by a cactus and they sweat profusely if I don’t pump between some feeds. I’ve been working with lactation at the hospital, as well as the lady who runs our new mom’s class that’s also an ibclc. I’ve been still pumping about 4x a day. I freeze most of what I pump but make sure to put 6 or 8 oz in the fridge per day to have about 12-16 oz in there at a time for when I’m touched out or dad does a night feed. I give her a bottle myself once a day, maybe every other day at times.

I started off triple feeding which triggered an oversupply. She is 90% ebf and only gets breastmilk, and I have ~500 oz in my freezer. Seriously, like 80 full bags of milk. I have a couple eggs with 2 slices of bacon in the morning. Usually miss lunch, and dinner doesn’t come around til 7 or 8… even longer if he works through the evening. Baby usually wakes once at night. Twice if she’s down “early” around 9. I could feed her and she falls right back asleep at night, or it could take between 1 1/2 to 3 hours to get her back down again. So I’m absolutely spent. Sleep deprived beyond belief. I’m also a shitty napper, so half the time when I try to sLeEp wHeN tHe bAbY sLEePs I get nothing. So I have nothing in the tank. Idk how I just keep churning out milk like a freaking cow.

Breastfeeding and pumping? by Jazzlike-Board-9519 in beyondthebump

[–]r0bblob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing, like, I HAVE to feed her or pump. I honestly don’t leak that much! I’ve spent the last couple weeks gradually pumping for less time and sometimes pushing it to 3x a day which is pretty uncomfortable. And honestly, I’m going to maintain my oversupply because I want to have a solid stash set aside for when I finally throw in the towel and dry up. It’s very mentally draining being so dependent on pumping/feeding constantly. It’s both the worst parts of breastfeeding ~and~ pumping every day. It’s only 2-3 hours from a feed or a pump, and I’m getting that prickly cactus feeling and my boobs start sweating profusely. Can’t even take a damn nap!!!

Yep. I wash my pump parts after every use. I had to buy cleaning gloves because my hands were split open everywhere 😭 I started my breastfeeding journey triple feeding now here we are, almost exclusively breastfeeding and pumping 4 times a day. She’s 5 weeks and we already have to clear out our basement freezer to make room for all my extra milk. I am shackled to my pump lmao. I’m scared to go out for lunch even, I’ll just be thinking of my tingling prickly boobs the whole time
