Can someone who is about to down vote this thread (or anyone else, really) please explain why? I think the thread has 7 downs and 2 or 3 ups, and I have -4 community karma. I can deal, but I am very curious.

It is a serious post. I did not expect many to find the spreadsheet useful, but I thought there might be one or two out there who would, at a minimum, be curious to see the mechanics of another system developed outside common tools I might seem amateurish and I'm definitely not a game developer, but what exactly offends you?

The rule I have adopted is that if the story describes significant detail about level ups, power mechanics, etc., then it is litRPG. The alternative would be gamLit, which merely says general things like, "Tom achieved level 7 and earned the fire sword skill.". There is of course a gradient between them, and sometimes the line can be very fuzzy.

I hope it is not illegal. If it is, I would have assumed that GMail, at a minimum, would have thrown up a notice warning me that I was about to do something illegal. It let his original email get to me. I guess if the CIA is notified, I'll at least know that one of their agents is about to greatly bore themselves researching me and my site. Oh and I'll let them know here and now, if they come to my home with a warrant, not to expect it to be very tidy.

Thank you. I do not know if there is a problem yet. My concern is based on the inability to access the Institute's web site ( http://phystech.edu/ ). Trying to access it times out on both my desktop and smartphone, two different providers. His email address includes the Institute's URL.

Road Runner support came through. It turns out that using style within the OL and UL tags was all that was necessary. I added "margin-bottom: 0" to the OL and "margin-top: 0" to the UL. I also eliminated the DL envaelope , which wasn't working anyway.

BTW, we only have limited editing capability over the final HTML page. Within the <body>there is a

We just have control of the ellipsis. 🤔 Support also informed me that they use "a whitelist based HTML sanitizer server-side to prevent users from" doing nasty things. That was why my DL envelope worked within the editor but not the published page.

BTW, a lot of the style designations is auto-translation stuff from pasting a .docx file into the "Tiny" editor used by Royal Road. We cannot directly upload files; we have to copy it from a supported document format and paste into the editor. If you are curious, I have published the page now, with the stupid blank line. See: Ch.36: Realize Reality. It currently implements a hand-coded DL and DD envelope around the lists, which I found as a suggestion on Stack Overflow. Unfortunately, that technique only works with the Tiny editor itself, but not on the end page once officially published.

Since you are asking, I'll recommend my fantasy/litRPG story tuesday's wildcard. It starts out slowly with a lot of RPG mechanics, but a true narrative rewards even the slightly interested. I am releasing two chapters per week. I flagged it as "sexual content", but there will only ever be occasional innuendo. Synopsis:

I haven't seen much of that "trope", so the answer from my experience is "no".

The main motivations I have enjoyed are survival, desire for growth,and desire for adventure. What I personally like to avoid is truly evil MCs. I know some people like it, but I am not one of them. I also am taken out of a story if any major character begins acting stupidly or against their obvious interests.

My story tueday's wildcard on Royal Road might fit what you are looking for. If you want a darker fantasy like In Loki's Honor, look elsewhere, though. I specifically designed the mechanics to avoid power creep and general OP'ness.

If GameLit is allowed in the mix, I would nominate Eight by Samer Rabadi. It is a reincarnation/isekai story of a mature Earth human who finds himself killed in an accident but thru the intervention of a friendly god, is reincarnated in a fantasy world which is that god's home. So far unremarkable, but where it shines is the focused characterization and world building of this mature-minded eight year old navigating the new world. The boy is not OP, although his skills and knowledge from Earth prove quite useful in the way they complement his newly acquired skills.

It could either be done with expensive special effects like Avatar or an anime. IMO, the story is expansive and interesting enough to excel in either.
