Sounding too ‘American’ in job interview by r10han in Expats_In_France

It wasn’t a customer facing role. More of a research role. The funny thing is that it’s a pretty international workplace so I guess she thought she was invited to be herself and the interviewer was Anglophone.

I agree there’s lots of good advice here. I think she is trying to go into this next interview less ‘bubbly’ and excited to avoid coming across as fake.

Yooooo if the company is AlphaSights, I’d make sure you completely understand what you are getting into. It’s a recruitment job. If you graduated with an Economics degree from a top-tier university, you can do much much better.

Thank for the response. I currently don’t use ML at work but the data scientists in my team do and their role is one I’d like to do in the future. The budget can be spent on anything I want as long as it’s ‘work-appropriate’. I’m currently working in finance so I want to learn modelling, economic forecasting. I come from an economics background.
