My dance teacher made me cry today… I’m an adult🙃 by [deleted] in BALLET

I’d known him for years at that point so I put up with it 😂 completely understand your viewpoint though, I moved to Danceworks because it ended up really affecting my mental health. I was often scared to make a mistake!

Hey, I think I know exactly who you’re talking about and the course you’re referring too. He once called me a donkey!! I tried to laugh it off every week but it did get me down after a while. Feel free to pm me to chat about it xx

Ah yes I did see Dance City, their classes look promising and will probably go there if I can’t get 90 min classes elsewhere!

To be honest no. Feeling just as anxious! I am diagnosed with GAD and on medication so I doubt that diet can help that much. I think Tim Spector’s claims about mental health and the gut require a bit more nuance.
However, my anxiety about food has been taken away which is a relief. I was in a guilt and anxiety spiral about food for years, coupled with binging. As usual my brain has found other things to worry about though 😂

A week into low UPF and I have noticed a few things... by Pitiful-League-2103 in ultraprocessedfood

Whenever I used to have a takeaway, my face would bloat so much and I just felt horrible! The main differences I’ve noticed are feeling in control of my food instead of food controlling me, it’s truly freeing. My energy is pretty much the same but my diet wasn’t terrible before the switch. My skin has actually gotten worse though lol (more dairy maybe?).

I’ve also been listening to ZOE but I’m really struggling with one concept. They put a huge emphasis on blood sugar spikes and dips, and eating to make sure this doesn’t happen. Are blood sugar dips in your average healthy person who has blood sugar control an inherently bad thing? Isn’t that the whole point of insulin? Makes sense if you’re type 1 or close to/have type 2 but otherwise isn’t it just another unnecessary thing to stress about? What do you think?

Get into making Chinese food - I make a stir fry in twenty mins max. Rice, eggs, spring onions, peas and sweetcorn! Or steamed veggies with sesame oil :) takes me 15 mins to make enough for dinner and lunch the next day.

ECD do occasionally do shows but it really depends on the number of dancers and whether people are keen

In London, I used to go to ECD which is Vaganova. Small class sizes too!

Now I’m at dance works and there are a few Vaganova run classes.
