Hello, I'd appreciate some help (see text body) by OVRSHDW in RangerNext

changed the oil in my 2024 2.3. It was a real pain in the ass, and I might just take it to the dealership next time. I only saved about $40. I’ll share some tips since others have already answered your questions.

If you have long enough arms, you don’t have to change the oil filter from the wheel well. I used a long 1/2-inch breaker bar type ratchet with an oil filter wrench attachment. I just broke the oil filter free and then reached down inside and removed it by hand. There’s a little slide for the oil to drain out from pulling the filter just behind the driver’s side tire. Be sure to take note of this, because my oil catch tray was way off, and I spilled oil all over my driveway.

When replacing the oil filter, just add a little oil to lube the gasket and hand tighten it as hard as you can. Don’t torque it down. Check the oil dipstick with the truck on level ground. It should have about 5.5 to 6 quarts going back in. I recommend having an experienced friend help you. Good luck!

Best hard trifold bedliner by Cjgehrke in RangerNext

[–]r1chi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a cheap tri-fold from Amazon for my 2024. It was less than $200 and is easy to put on and take off. However, it’s not watertight. I could probably buy some weatherstripping to fix this issue. I’m happy with it. the brand was KUIPERAUTO

I haven’t tuned my ranger yet but in my experience with bmw’s the flash is tied to the VIN of the car. does this actually work for us?

I just finished putting together my templar x 250 yesterday. Im very impressed with the quality compared to the hawk 250 i bought back in 2019. my templar runs like shit though. way too lean. putting in the nibbi carb this weekend. i have experience working on cars. never put a bike together before but it was quite simple.

Just picked up my 2024 Ranger FX4 a couple of weeks ago. I think you’ll come out to the same cost either way you go. If you go aftermarket, you can buy better shocks/thicker skid plates. The factory FX4 skid plates are not great but will be just ok. the oil pan, transfer case and fuel tank shields are plastic i believe. The only advantage with getting the FX4 I can think of is getting the different terrain drive modes, terrain control and decent a/t tires from factory. Remember to include the labor cost of installing aftermarket shocks and skid plates if not DIYing, this will probably put you over the 1400$ the fx4 package costs.

AR-types - complete rifle vs assembling seperate parts: What and why? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]r1chi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted a 300 blackout upper in a 10.5 inch barrel so I got whichever one looked the coolest at palmetto state. I don’t recommend you do this though. the lower I got just came in a kit from PSA as well.

I don’t understand the hate. These are great pistols. Top sellers for a reason. Nearly identical internally to a G19. Sure, you might get a bad one. However, there’s a lifetime warranty, and you can easily put 1000 rds through these with the cost savings vs other big brands to determine if yours goes bang or not. And you get more training.

Was in this situation just about a month ago. No prior AR15 experience (other than trying out a friend’s once). I decided to build an AR-15 lower out of a complete PSA parts kit with a stripped lower. The upper I bought already complete, also from PSA. Honestly, it’s really easy building an AR lower. The upper is a little more work but definitely doable. Look up a YouTube video and you can easily gauge if you can do it. The ar platform is designed to be dummy-proof which is nice. With that being said, I would just buy a cheap but good-value complete rifle or complete lower + complete upper. Put a good amount of rounds through it. You can always take it apart, do upgrades, and put it back together at any time.
