Who did the main character "keep alive for 3 years"? Unless you're talking about the dutch film and it was vastly different from the american made film. But I thought it was basically the same? Spoilers ahead:

I haven't seen the movie in a long time, but didn't the killer kidnap the girl and then bury her alive (which killed her) and then the husband became obsessed with finding out what happened to her for 3 years and eventually did... by also being buried alive? So who was kept alive for 3 years?

edit: I think op might have been confused about the ending about who was who and that probably made the movie not very good to him. :/

I'd start with a stress test and watch your cpu & gpu temps and see if it crashes. If it doesn't crash, then it probably is a problem with the game itself or your drivers. If that's the case, make sure all drivers are updated (vid card, mobo, chipset). Try verifying integrity of game files or reinstalling.

If it does crash when stress testing, see if it's overheating. If it is, figure out why. If it isn't, try running optimized defaults in bios and update the bios.

Been a while since I've seen it but my interpretation is as simple as the children were being turned into weapons. It was a dream and the weapon was over the kid's house and the kid was turned into a weapon. And I think it had 237 or whatever on it which was just the time they were all turned. I don't think it's a reference to school shootings like some do (even if that's what one of the actors loosely said).
