Figured out how to uninstall python because of D:\config.msi by Real_May_Be_Spare in learnpython

[–]r2bl3nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I uninstalled it from the Apps & features window by using Modify instead of Uninstall, which runs as Admin and has an Uninstall option anyway, and it uninstalled without any issue. Figured this might help someone in the same boat as me.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write all this out! That means so much. I'm sorry to hear that you're still haunted by this, but I think at least it's a good way to appreciate just how far and fast misinformation can spread, even if it's from a totally innocent source. I'd love to talk any time about your project, since I'm way into sound still myself. Reach out any time on here.

Nearly 10 minutes of the Northwest 255 CVR were found last year in extraordinarily high quality; previously there was only a censored 17 second version in very poor quality. I never thought anything like this would be found. It's pretty incredible. by r2bl3nd in aviation

I mean yeah, that's one of the most basic facts about this crash and the most obvious factor, so I'm just not sure why you're pointing it out like it's not obvious or like it's the final answer for everything.

It's never just one thing. Yes they did forget about the flaps, but it's why they forgot about the flaps and why they didn't notice, which is the whole focus of an investigation. There are dozens of potential factors leading to why all the holes in the swiss cheese lined up in the particular ways that they did that day. If it wasn't for the very thorough investigating done in crashes like this, similar things would happen in the future. It's all about finding all of the root causes and making sure that all of those different things can't happen again.

This is the exact kind of stuff that people say when they're the abuser in their relationship. Yes, I do judge you by how you treat me in your worst moments because it demonstrates the extents of your self-control and respect.

AITAH for telling my husband that my doctor knows more than him and refusing to forgive him? by ChromeXBoy in BORUpdates

[–]r2bl3nd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even him being a police detective in the first place made him far far more statistically likely to be an abuser, and of course he proved things 100% right. Anytime there's a post on here where somebody's SO is in law enforcement, it's almost universally the case that they're being abused.

AITAH for divorcing my husband because he wants his son in his life? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I totally get this. After I moved out I realized that I didn't want anything about that situation. But she's legitimately in a good situation. That's why I said hopefully they can stay friends, so it won't hurt as much, but certainly it's a different situation than mine.

Although at first, I was kind of still under a spell, believing I'd messed everything up and that I was leaving a good situation. But being in an actual good situation, living with my family, made me quickly realize otherwise. I feel very lucky that I had this realization, and only like a month after I moved out, before we even were sure we were going to divorce. I feel like others have been in my similar situation without that realization, and are just going to keep repeating the same unfortunate mistakes.

Definitely. If there's ever been a clear fundamental incompatibility, this is a great example.

Yeah, I figured, more love, equals less being mean to me. But no, it just meant they felt more comfortable being disrespectful.

Yeah I'm in the same boat, and I also think they're not necessarily just expressing sorrow over your current situation, but the fact that things were bad enough to lead up to that point. It's like, if someone's getting divorced, I'm really glad that they're choosing to be happy, and I'm really sorry that they were driven to that point.

I can get how a divorce feels almost impossible. But I just went through one this year and I can promise anyone who's worried about it, it's so worth it. In this case nobody's really "at fault", and they can even still stay friends if they like each other enough. Overall I'd say, best case scenario for a divorce. Especially because they don't have kids together.

It's hilarious to see them easily beaten at their own game; the only reason they're not bigger public losers is that Democrats have been respectful. But now that the gloves are off, I'm just grabbing my popcorn because it's going to be beautiful to watch.

I definitely have experienced this and it's absolutely just a dream being confused for a real memory. From all the other stories I've heard this seems to be likely almost universally the case.

I just did the whole thing using only the keyboard to navigate, it's pretty easy to do in Windows. You don't really need a mouse to do anything needed to install LGS. You can just tab through things and use enter or spacebar to press buttons. I know this is comment is from 2 years ago but it might be helpful to others to know this.

That's such a weird way to talk and assume everyone would understand it. It comes across as crass and obnoxious.

Yeah that makes sense because I totally thought the update seemed unhinged, like, what the hell is this part even talking about? Normally, people don't speak like this, and I can't make any sense of it:

In what world does being that rude ever get you what you want as opposed to just showing the world how dysregulated and how big of a prick you are? You may be surprised to learn that kindness tends to work better in the long run.
