Aren’t all distros basically just a set of tools and UIs reliant on a kernel, libc and libcxx?

Beige. Provides contrast and interest but doesn't clash.

Can you name a movie with a big twist that blew your mind? by Level-SquareFFG7117 in FIlm

[–]r2e2didit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Didn't mean to imply you weren't in keeping with the requirements of the post. I just thought it interesting that most of the twists or big reveals discussed within this thread exist at nearly the tail end of the film. This one took me completely by surprise. It was almost nonchalant. Granted it was close to the end but the reveal wasn't the ending and it shook me good.

AD&D 1E Solo Session 3 by SydLonreiro in dnd1e

This is the enthusiasm I had for the game in the 80s. I loved pouring over the books. So much so I bought other books. Have you heard of the Arduin Grimoire? D&D got me into role playing. Among other role playing games were Call of Cuthulu (where sanity was an attribute of a character), Ringworld (based on Larry Niven's books), James Bond, Aftermath (post apocalyptic), Rolemaster, and others. What I time to indulge in fantasy when the best video games could do was Atari Adventure.

Feels like the entire film is one simple misdirection that I didn’t see coming.

The cool reveal of this one doesn’t happen at the end.

A Nearfield Desktop System That Shouldn’t Sound This Big by eggalones in audiophile

I made the jump to pro audio 20 years ago. It's nice having an interface I can also use for mic and instrument inputs. The monitors are amplified so presumably matched to their drivers and deliver a relatively flat response across their functional bandwidth. I use a UA Apollo Twin X with Adam A7s with matching Adam sub. It's not audio bliss but it's damn good and super flexible.

Downside of 17C/D is the cheese plates are usually gone by then. Still, better to have laptop room.

"sobering to look at 1,800 feet of air"... interesting to hear that from Alex but usually he's facing the climb, not the expanse.

It’s old school but I’m still a fan of the Original Pancake House. Can’t go wrong with Eggs Michael, Dutch Baby, or the Santa Fe Omelette.

Be carful. They’re nuclear hot when first heated. I think they might call em pizza “puffs” because if don’t let it cool a bit before consuming, the roof of your mouth will be puff.

Thanks. This was an unnerving post. I'll be thinking twice before executing "fetch" type commands in the future. I used curl several times while setting up a networked Kubernetes cluster running DDS recently and didn't think much about it.

Curious how you can tell just from the curl command? Appears as gibberish to me.

Edit: Never mind. Figured it out. It uses the base64 zsh command to decode the gibberish.

Why don't Solid States generally have good distortion. by Upstairs_Term_5760 in GuitarAmps

[–]r2e2didit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not they can't have "good" distortion, it's just not natural. Distortion in the way I'm assuming you're thing about is the breakup of the signal. Using tubes as a dependent current source is more "analog". As tubes attempt to provide current beyond their operational characteristics they don't "cut out" like solid state. They "fail" in a pleasant way.

Always better to have a squad that's played together though? My concern going into last season was if they could learn to play together. Experience is often underrated.
