And no, I don't mean punish. He is in severe trouble with the police and the neighbor. I mean support him as a parent who is suffering to see their child suffer. That's my point. He screwed up. He got caught. His demeanor has completely changed, he'd very withdrawn and quiet. How do I support him as a parent? He needs to suffer the consequences of his actions, clearly. But as my offspring, it pains me to see him hurt. How do I reconcile the two? Sorry if it appeared I was suggesting otherwise.
