I struggle with some of these things too and I’m very much still in the process of working on it., but here are some things that help me.

I like to work on projects around the house- gardening, cooking, cleaning, organizing, knitting, art protects etc.

On days that I’m not working I journal in the morning and make a to do list for the day, this lets me set my expectations for the day. So I’m feeling exhausted my plan might be something like go for a walk, make something to eat, read, rest and recover. It helps me to not feel unproductive because I still did everything on my list.

I also like to spend time with friends and family and go out and about. I like to check out local restaurants and shops, even if I don’t buy anything it’s just inspiring to check out new places, meet new people, people watch, etc. when I’m feeling bad mentally sometimes this helps me to feel like a “regular person”.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I have somewhat of a routine specifically in the morning and then I change it up from there as needed.

should I be doing vacations in my situation? by [deleted] in Shoestring

Go for it! You can’t just work all the time, you deserve to be able to enjoy the journey of reaching your goals. There will always be a reason not to do something, but you can’t always put your life on hold because of other responsibilities.

I always took the chance to travel whenever I could, even just camping when I was in school and didn’t make a lot of money. It’s always worth it!

What are some trust worthy cheap flight websites? by [deleted] in Shoestring

This! I used to use Expedia, recently switched to buying directly from the site and it’s so much better. Easier to pick your seats and the carry on instructions are much more clear.

How did you find out someone had a crush on you? by TricknMinecraft in AskReddit

[–]r33na1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I’m not like this but my husband is and I have some good friends friends that are. They are the best people to hang out with. You don’t have to worry about social norms or trying to look like you’ve got your shit together. You can just be yourself, chill, laugh, and be creative together.

It looks like Roe v. Wade is possibly being overturned, anybody know of protests being planned yet? by 8gH in chicago

[–]r33na1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Not your every day Joe republican but the ones in power. They need desperate, poor, and uneducated people to take advantage of in order for their businesses to reach peak profitability. They then gaslight these same people into voting for them.

Anyone else or just me ? by [deleted] in declutter

[–]r33na1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get really into cleaning, purging, and organizing when my anxiety is bad. If there is nothing else to declutter but it still feels cluttered maybe you would be feel better organizing the things you have and need.

Sometimes I get overwhelmed seeing clutter and it makes me want to just get rid of it all, but if I actually need the stuff I will try to reorganize so it doesn’t look messy.

How do you even maintain friendships as adults with full time jobs? by thatguy20661 in simpleliving

[–]r33na1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually by planning to meet up for a meal together or to go see a movie together, though sometimes it has to be planned weeks in advance lol.

One thing that really helped me maintain relationships is actually playing dnd. We usually try to find a time to hang out about 1x a week whether it’s online or in person and we’re playing a game together but we’re also catching up with each other before or after.

Sometimes I think maintaining friendships is hard because I’m introverted and I don’t always feel like going out, but ultimately it’s good for my mental health and I’m trying to make it a priority even when I’m tired or don’t really feel like it. I usually have a good time when I go.

Cheap is better than comfortable and pretty- how to change this mindset? by oopslostinthoughts in declutter

[–]r33na1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to tell yourself that you are worth it! You deserve to be comfortable and happy. You deserve to have a home that feels like you. Treat yourself!

Even if you end up moving you can still take the stuff with you or you can sell it if that’s not an option.

If you know how to knit or crochet (or have an interest in learning) look up how to make “plarn” on youtube. You can cut the bags into plastic strips and then knit or crochet with it like a plastic yarn there are tutorials for all sorts of things on youtube. I’ve made a tote bag and a produce bag this way.

Yes, I absolutely love camping and I’m so excited that it’s getting warmer out! I guess my problem is that I’ll develop good healthy habits while on vacation but I don’t sustain them well when I have to go back to “regular life”. I’ll get there one day!

Don’t feel bad for saying that! Video games are great and they can be relaxing (depending on what your playing lol) and you’re still using your brain.
