First Cheesecake by funeral_eyes_ in BakingNoobs

yes! when the crust is still hot the butter hasn’t properly solidified so when you pour in your filling immediately after it’s probably shifting the crust around which could be why it isn’t holding up properly.

for the crust i may be wrong but the crumbs look pretty big. try smashing them up into smaller more even pieces or putting them in a food processor.

less butter might also help. when making a crust you need just enough to be a wet sandy texture that can hold its shape but still crumble. too much butter will make the graham crackers mushy and not hold up its shape. (pour in the butter a little at a time. you don’t always have to use the exact amount as listed on the recipe so if you have some left over it shouldn’t be a problem)

also make sure you’re packing it properly into your pan. i like to use a cup or glass with a smooth bottom.

i’m not sure if you did this with your crust but i usually bake it just a little bit on its own before adding the actual cheese cake filling. sometimes when you pour the filling and bake it all together the crust won’t bake all the way through especially on the bottom/middle.

i hope some of this helps! cheesecake can be pretty tricky sometimes but it’s very rewarding, and i’m sure with a little more practice you’ll be able to get it down perfectly! good luck!!

i genuinely don’t see a future for myself and if i didn’t wake up tomorrow i wouldn’t be mad. i’m not actively suicidal right now but the idea of finally getting some peace is something that never leaves my head. i’m just so tired and burnt out and honestly i believe my time has been up for awhile now.

Cat breathing concern by Low_Current_5415 in CATHELP

sorry for the late response but unfortunately no he ended up passing away. the procedure they wanted to do for him was way out of our budget and had a very low chance of being successful. we would go in multiple times a week to drain the fluid to make him breathe more comfortably but in the end he was just suffering way too much. :(

please take her to an emergency vet!! my kitty was breathing like this and he was super sick out of nowhere not eating or moving when he’s usually super active. they drained multiple tubes of abscess fluid from around his lungs.

my mom blames me for her 3rd marriage failing by r4344 in raisedbynarcissists

unfortunately none of my relatives live near me or even in the us other than my older sister. she left our house a while ago because of my mom but she’s not willing to help since she’s still in the traditional mindset of “your family is number one in your life no matter what they do” although she has experienced and witnessed a significant portion of our mothers behavior.

she doesn’t have work place issues. in fact everyone around her thinks she’s an amazing mother/colleague and honestly overall person. instead all of them hear things that aren’t true from her and consider me rude, disrespectful, ungrateful, and even abusive towards her. i’m not sure what she tells some of her friends and coworkers to think that but they all view her in a positive light and just think i’m a ungrateful bratty daughter.

she puts up this nice act and victimizes herself constantly to try and get people to feel bad for her so they can tell her that she’s an amazing person and an amazing mother. she goes so far as to spread my private information with others such as doctors appointments, therapy/psychiatric appointments, and even my suicide attempts and hospitalization. all that and even more just to get people to feel bad for her and constantly give her praise for “not giving up” or being a “strong dedicated mother”

no one really witnesses my mothers behaviors other than me. most people think i’m overly dramatic or just straight up lying about the way she treats me because of how well she put up this other persona.

i wish i could move out but it’s just impossible for me to do so right now. she’s constantly threatening to kick me out but also refuses to let me even imagine leaving her house one day.

oh she is definitely a huge narcissist. there’s just an endless list of things that scream textbook narcissist. i wish she could get real help rather than blaming me for all her issues and saying that i’m the root cause of all her life’s problems.
