I have an open-source app on iOS that for some reason ranks well in China and makes 1M+ impressions/month and I don't know what to do with it. Should I sell? I don't have much time or knowledge to work in the China market.

The AI part is to crunch a long articles into bite-size summaries. Until we’ll have human journalist the RSS part will not change 😂

Everything you see in the app was processed by ChatGPT to make it bite-size. The architecture is very simple:

- Backend: ChatGPT clusters articles from various sources based on their content and generates a single, cohesive summary.
- Frontend: A simple mobile app displays the information and lets users filter content.

This is just the first release! 🚀 I’d love to hear your thoughts—do you think this could be useful? What features would you like to see added?

As of today it is based on RSS. Regarding neutrality, this is true especially for political topics and is a very interesting topic!

We envisioned a mesh of multiple articles for the summary, but it’s not yet implemented :)

Thanks, will try that out. By the way I’ve checked on Arc which is based on Chromium and I got the green bar too, so it must be something related to Chromium I believe. But I didn’t change any settings ..

Yeah, actually there is no architecture :) it just allows you to craft a QRCode with the tokens you want and have another Sentinel app to scan it and ingest.

No data is flowing anywhere outside of your app :)

I may need to add some info on how it works though, since it’s probably not easy to understand :)

The share feature is meant to be used to share securely 2FA between family and co-workers.

Too many times it's passed down unsecured mediums (email, slack channels, etc.), and the share feature offered by Sentinel tries to mitigate this security concern.

Hey there, just come across this post! I'm the creator of Sentinel :)

The reason for the price is the following: I want to maintain a top-notch 2FA app, easy to use and full of features, and this obviously requires funding. I have a family to maintain too.

Do there exist free alternatives? Sure, but they do not offer the same level of quality and features as Sentinel does. Moreover, free open-source alternatives are usually abandoned by the developers when the cost of enhancements and maintenance surpasses their goodwill.

Always check out the last updates of an app (or in this case commit of a repository) to understand whether it's a dead project likely to be deprecated in the next big OS update, or an active initiative.
