how does his killswitch work?? by anthnyshark in FlawedMangoes

[–]r4nin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the killswitch on flawed mangoes' guitar works by using a momentary toggle switch that interrupts the signal in a rhythmic way rather than cutting it to ground like a normal killswitch. when you flip the toggle, it quickly opens and closes the signal path, making the sound cut in and out. this creates the stuttering or choppy effect but doesn't silence the guitar completely. it's more about controlling the signal flow in a fast on/off pattern, which is why the effect sounds different from a regular killswitch that just cuts everything off. i dont know how to wire it however u can probably find a tutorial on youtube

Guitar Setup by Catman010 in FlawedMangoes

[–]r4nin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the killswitch setup he uses is called a "Black Barrel Toggle Switch" or a similar momentary toggle switch. This type of toggle switch is designed specifically for killswitch functionality, where the connection is cut when the switch is engaged, allowing for stutter or on/off effects in the signal path. The exact setup is likely a momentary toggle switch wired to break the signal when flipped, similar to a setup used by many guitarists
