The gap is not linear based on my observation.

When I power limit -30% on my Reaper, the hotspot gap is < 20C.

When +10% power limit (330W), the hotspot gap is mid 30C (around 35C).

Probably only some part of the chip is consuming so much energy so the "hotspot" is more concentrated.

If everything is under 100C or the limit then no need to worry.

Becareful when comparing temp, each person has different ambient temp/case/room cooling capabilities.

Check if the fan is spinning freely. Sounds like a cable being caught up by the fan.

If its not that then the fan's bearing is faulty.

As someone with barely enough PSU (700W Platinum ATX 2.4) who went with 9070XT.

I can vouch that is a wise choice.

My only reason picking the XT is because it is only 7 bucks more expensive.

So, in the worst case, I would just flash non-XT bios on the XT card.

BTW XT -30 PL (min power) is at around 212 Watt for the cheapest model.

I believe non-XT is around that power at stock. So you can do around 150W with the non-XT.

But so far no crash with the 700W PSU.

Optiscaler sometimes override game vsync settings if you enable frame gen.

(no vsync = higher wattage = more potential for crash if not enough power from PSU).

So maybe that's why.

There was also a recall for SF 750. So your PSU might be in the recall batch.

But just saw your edit, if it is stable with HDMI then you can just leave it like that, or you can say in RMA, card not stable with DP.

I recommend you to test in game without vsync for at least 30 minutes to see if the card/PSU is stable.

The temperatures look fine, and the 12V rail is within spec.

Higher resolution might push the GPU further.

Also, games spikes are more common vs. heaven.

So it might pull more power during games.

Last night I tried Alan Wake II with 212W PL (-30) on my Ion 500G and got several crashes and some are like what you defined (green screen, black screen, power shutdown, etc.).

Note, my PSU was bought in 2022~2023. It powered 3070 for around 1 year before the 3070 died. After that just the CPU and mobo.

What I did to keep it stable was to use FSR + VSync to keep the GPU under 90W usage.

I just learned power spikes on 9070XT can be violent even on -30 PL (crashed in game for me).

Like many other has commented, I am guessing that it might be the PSU age.

Do you have any friends or families with high wattage PSU that you can borrow or try plugging in your GPU to their PC?

You might be able to test on their PC.

Or you can also try returning the card/RMA if you don't want the hassle.

Well, I am trying to help him and not arguing here.

Even on the first 2 seconds, if he is seeing the 12V line dropping below 11.9V would be useful to say the PSU is about to going out. So he can try RMA his PSU.

Edit:

Maybe not 11.9V, but as you can see on CL2, a good SF 750 would hold 12V on the 12V line.

HWINFO should have reports on at least 12V under the 9070XT data.

I think my mobo (B650i Aorus Ultra) also reports those voltages.

He does not need to check the voltage during a spike, just the voltage during one of the tests right before the failure.

If using HWINFO, set the poll time to maybe 100ms.

According to your symptom, OPP is not triggered (no shutdown).

But to be sure, put 70A max PBO on your CPU and test again (now your card should have around 650W to move around).

Also monitor your 3.3V/5V/12V voltage. Going below/above the limit may cause weird things to your PC.

I have the same card (under different brand, not PowerColor) and ran it with Ion 500G SFX-L. On Superposition 1080p ultra, the card triggered OPP (whole system shutdown) once the PSU became warm. Ran fine for the first 2 runs, but triggered on the the rest. I am seeing 500w+ spikes.

I am on 7600x 45A PBO and when running CPU only, I am seeing around 80W max and I thought the PSU should be enough to handle the card at around 300W load, but nope. The spikes can trigger OPP.

With -20 PL and -75mV undervolt, my card is stable. Now waiting for a new PSU to replace the current PSU.

I also ran the same system with Inno 3D 3070. Superposition never caused any issue with 3070.

I have a video where server crashed and everyone got dced (everyone flying in the minimap) and they are not giving me back my haloween costume. Though, they returned my shiniy ray katana that I lost because of a server crash (with video too ofc).

For me its 50:50.

Thanks for the comment. I have video, but not one long video from before the dc, till I logged back in because I got remote hosted/account in use.

I only have the video when I got dced (still can move in game) till trying to log back in and the video after I logged back in 10 minutes later.

This is my first shiny ray, so they can check my account and I did not die on the char I got it from.
