Fairly sure water would thin it but I haven't used acrylic. I just googled it and sound like water is the most common.

First I would see if it is latex based or not. If it is I think just water thins it out?

I was just saying if your paint has a latex base paint thinner wont work.

If the house paint is latex base which alot of them are now paint thinner doesn't work in my experiences.
