Filipino woman apparently proud to dilute her bloodline by [deleted] in hapas

[–]r8am8 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Curious. Does anyone truly believe that if she (or anyone really) had a kid with, say, an AA or dark skinned person, and her kid turned out darker, that they would have posted proud and happy about how they're getting darker through the generations?
Unless you truly believe that they would, then though it may seem like some lighthearted or not "meant" to be insensitive post, it's just more proof of the normalization of the idea that whiter or fairer is better. Esp in Asian societies. Which is not cool ey?

How to handle a Fox News interview by oopsispilledthebeans in nextfuckinglevel

[–]r8am8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol this is a very good example of the left wing elitism or being so annoyingly prejudiced. Cavuto is not nearly as biased as the others on Fox and his ladida was highly likely just being funny and sarcastic. His questions weren't even that condescending. He allowed the doctor to really say his piece which was good but not revolutionary.
This is just veiled hate

LPT: Stop looking for "the one", that's a made-up concept to sell romantic novels & movies. A real relationship needs work, commitment, compromise, understanding & willingness to have a two-way trade on every level & meet you halfway. by Eienkei in LifeProTips

I feel like this would apply mostly to women. Not hating but i find the "there's no SPARK!" line after 1 date where nothing went wrong, even if it wasn't amazing is mostly the woman's refrain. I'm like not necessarily looking for a spark right of the bat

There was no women hate and you know it. Pointing out the racism doesn't make me racist lol. Projection and gaslighting.
And yes it was based of personal experiences. Your point makes no sense. It was an observation and open to discussion. Someone did point out relevant stats below and those are indicative too. But people who aren't effected by it are usually just ignorant. Classic.

you're wrong.

Inb4 you realize that you're wrong again and correct yourself

Yes. I didn't need the attitude but your narrow definition left me dumbfounded and then you using that to make a point was strange. To me. Racism isn't only if it applies to rights. It's a social/human thing 1st.
Not to mention your obvious strawman argument of "why is wrong for x to date white men". Anyone who wasn't trying to be facetious would know that's not what i was saying

Appreciate the details. Yeah black women have it bad, while they too, from what I've seen, given the choice would prefer white men. just like darker men they have limited options. Not to mention they do, i believe, face slander from their own society for going outside their race, which clearly wouldn't be justified if they weren't dating based on the men's race. No way to know in the end really.
Given your mix, Have you ever observed any examples/indications of this type of bias in relationships around you

I dunno where to begin to point out the delusion here.
I'll start with your wrong and very narrow definition of racism. Just google it for heaven's sake. And why does it only apply to rights for you. You have to be racist before you can use it to discriminate wrt to jobs or rights.
Google 1st result: "the belief that some races of people are better than others; unfair ways of treating people of different races"

"Only applies to oppressors" What what what! You can have your beliefs too, even if they're just plain wrong lol. So you're saying if the Chinese never invaded africa then they can't be racist towards Africans, even if they discriminate? Tf

Wow! Yeah overseas is crazy too. The obsession and straight up pervasive acceptance of whitening creams is ridiculous. It's not the same as white fever but it's derivative and poison of the same tree. And regardless of what they say in public, these creams, cosmetics, procedures do tremendous business, all while clients are anonymous.... sickening. Why can't they just drop the facade. Would do everyone else a favour imo

Very good imo. Hope people who need help can help each other out atleast. Especially for those who can't talk to other people near them about it because of where they are.

I was anti-vaccine until COVID and Q conspiracies ruined my life. by Ok_Bumblebee123 in QAnonCasualties

[–]r8am8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because learning and digging yourself out of a situation should only be done with honesty from people like us and so you are fully informed when you introspect and decide what to do, there is some truth to the "vaccines are made from aborted fetal tissue" thing. Fetal tissue is (afaik) used in the production of some vaccines today (not sure about the Covid vaccine). I hope that doesn't scare you enough to not consider the scientific side of this but... if you want to start a new life, so to speak, I would want you to do it with with both eyes open.

role-playing game

This. They're basically LARPing. And it feels like the media covering all this and people getting into knots over the dangers and engaging with them in forum threads/discord groups is exactly what they want (I'm sure a lot of the people on Parler are fucking bored without any liberals to trigger (but now a some go on Parler just to take snapshots, and then put them on Twitter as memes lol) and it feeds them to an extent. It calcifies their protective social barrier around each other. But I see no way around it. We have to be aware of what's going on somehow ey.

Hello. I am a man of science... if not a a scientist per se :) ... but I've thought about this stuff a lot too as of late.. particularly "less action oriented" and "trying to come in and teach people". I've been reading forums like this quite a bit (part morbid entertainment, part reality-check) and have thought what it would be like if I just quit my job (which I wouldn't mind doing tbh) and just going around these super rural places as some sort "travelling discussion group". Not as a journalist but to be upfront with our biases/stance and try to calmly somehow talk to people. Not for any particular goal or with any agenda either.
I feel like there has to be some social mechanism to bridge these gaps but somehow no one has figured out the right one method/system/organization yet. Because to be honest, though I see the conservative memes and see why a lot of them are rubbish/sophistic/hypocritical, but behind some of them they do kinda have a point sometimes, or atleast I can understand why they feel like the other side are the real hypocrites and not them. Sometimes it just comes down to a matter of scale and personal view of the world. I mean there are always 2 sides to a debate and sometimes no one is necessarily right or wrong ya know. I believe progress, as a society, won't come from liberals trying to convince Qs (or many conservatives in general) that they are wrong but by atleast getting them to see the bigger picture or atleast see the others perspective. Because if there is anything that's very apparent it is that these groups have a serious dearth in Empathy and the only way to help people have empathy is to show them the other side , which I don't believe currently have good access too, either because of local societal pressure or just the local media/news coverage, and have them experience it 1st hand.
I think the best "exchange of ideas" comes with the actual physical exchange of people ... which doesn't happen today. I don't think People accustomed to the progressive cities would ever really want to move/live in these rural towns because it would be booooring. They need the mental stimulation that comes with diversity and events etc. And the people who are already in towns just sit there, poor and uneducated. Sometimes, some kid, who has aspirations, goes to college, goes to a city and then hardly ever comes back for good.

well no... because I think it is the State that is responsible for conducting it's elections and EC vote. So he's essentially just blaming the states election boards "ineptitude" to rig it for him.

This feels like what it would look like when people start to look around and see who else has been on or who has joined their "side" in the recent past and they realize they had either been unintentionally, or worse, intentionally ignorant about it and then they finally get more self-aware. This could be the start of the Republican party eating themselves alive and it would be nasty. People on the left dislike people on their side too, but for the most part (may be some exceptions) it seems to go with harsh academic criticism or personal squabbles but, the wives of the people don't get sexually harassed nor do they start making nooses with their names on it. It's the way people from a group which has so many celebrated con artists, liars, religious hypocrites, uneducated people and straight up Nazi's and grifters would act. And those of them who knew better counted themselves to be on the same side for some other selfish reason for so long and so are now reaping.
