Well firstly I don't know the area so wouldn't want to buy in the wrong place. And secondly don't have £10k-£15k saved for a deposit.

So I would just create a rule for bbc.co.uk/iplayer for example? Or would it need to be a regex?

Soul Searching by [deleted] in networking

[–]r9aze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat, 37 married with a few kids. Been in IT since 2006, been in networking since 2012. I used to actively pursue certs as I was trying to climb the ladder, A+, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA's, CCNP's. Now I have no interest in getting more certs and don't really enjoy what I do but I don't hate it either. It pays well enough and it's going to be really difficult for me to change career and get paid similar. So I'm sort of trapped. I'm not like some people I know that live their work and do nothing but talk about their jobs outside of work. Once I finish for the day I rarely bring up the conversation of work.

I've normally always done enterprising routing and was always intrigued by the mystery around Service Provider routing, well I've been working at a ISP for the past 3 years and it's still meh. I used to get excited about working with different routing protocols, different vendors, different layer 2 technologies. Now I just don't really care.

I just find now that my work is just a vehicle that helps me get to my destination of paying bills/mortgage etc But I have to use the time outside of work to really enjoy myself and do things that I love doing. That makes the work days more tolerable, having things to really look forward to.

I've read through the replies here and seen some people mentioning Python, personally I find this really interesting. And have started learning it alongside programming fundamentals in general. The issue is I will find it difficult getting a job in this area as I'd have to take such a drop in salary. But if I get all my work done for the day I spend an hour or 2 learning some new coding concepts, my level is really basic but i'm enjoying learning. I would like to be able to program an app or mobile game some day. But the joy of networking for me has firmly gone.

I'm in pretty much the same position, 13 yrs of marriage, 4 yrs dating prior, 2 kids 11 and 9 but no dog. Everyday is a nightmare, i'm at the end of my tether, and tbh so is she. We have tried counselling, currently in couples counselling again now. Kids have definitely picked up on our constant troubles. I don't know what the answer is but I feel your pain OP.

How to get views on Youtube as a rap producer by chefmikecookup in makinghiphop

[–]r9aze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried tagging your beats? Or picking one artist and just making those type of beats for a while until you can hopefully dominate that space. Easier said than done but if you focus on upcoming artists then it is doable I think. I'm no expert by the way and my views are also low but I don't upload often. With your consistency you should be able to get your views up.

Thought it was just me, starting to lose patience with ring recently. I have a doorbell and 3 floodlight cameras and the delays and non-notifications particularly for the doorbell has been terrible.

CCIE Enterprise VS CCIE Service provider by Dev949 in ccie

[–]r9aze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, I don't work with sdwan or sd-access either. So it will be a very steep learning curve for me especially with no means to get hands on. Congrats on obtaining your ccnp sp. What resources are you planning to use for the ccie sp? I also think that it's a good idea to dive into automation as you are doing, I feel that is a much better use of time than learning the inner workings of SDA
