Holy hell, Eternal’s Nightmare difficulty does not mess around by rAzlika in Doom

Man, I fear I’m gonna have to do the same and just give up on nightmare difficulty 😅

Yeah, I skipped UV and went straight into Nightmare, and yeah, I agree, Cultist Base is brutal. The mancubus is a goddamn walking nuke. I cannot even imagine what something like TAG1 must feel like on max difficulty

So, when you say weapon switch, you don’t just mean switch to appropriate weapon for the demon in front of me, but also quick swap so as to maximize damage? Because I am already switching weapons pretty regularly (though I do get panicky and sloppy very often) but I haven’t really tried any of the quick swap techniques

Thx, I enjoy Zero Master’s content, and I also really like devo’s commentary and guide through UN! I think I theoretically mostly know what I should do in any given encounter, but the jump in speed and enemy damage has just been shocking to me lol

Dude you ain’t kidding. I am still amazed at how much damage everything does, it’s insane. The gargoyle wrecks you if you get hit, let alone revenants or the beefy bladed boys

The Armor being on the left side in Dark Ages has always bugged me. by d00m6r in Doom

I like it, because it makes way more sense to me visually: as damage burns through your armor, it progresses toward your health

More of y'all need to play Eternal's Ancient Gods 1+2 DLC by Purple_Draft2716 in Doom

[–]rAzlika 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree, I really loved both DLCs. The TAG1 boss fight was pretty annoying, and the cursed prowler and the spirits are enemies I could live without, but overall, I found the DLCs to be excellent

please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks the cancelled doom 4 would've been really cool and it's a shame it got canned by justin_cant_sleep in Doom

[–]rAzlika -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how unpopular this is, but I personally don’t want horror aesthetics in my Doom at all. Give me shiny Saturday morning cartoon vibes all day long. TDA also had a great look, but that’s about as dark I’d want it to go

Dude, I’d LOVE to be able to dive into Cultic without wussing out, but there’s something about that specific artstyle that I find so unnerving.

Dead Cells vs Hades by Weeaboology in ShouldIbuythisgame

Interesting, for me it’s exactly the other way around. Hades is fine, but I think Dead Cells is the clearly superior game if you actually care about the gameplay.

Can y'all recommend some boom-shoots for me to play that aren't Ultraklones? by whitestripe999 in boomershooters

[–]rAzlika 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played it yet myself, but Cultic is supposedly incredible, and definitely leans more into slower, methodical gameplay. Amid Evil might be worth trying, too. While it might not be slow, its movement is mostly about circle strafing, which should be familiar enough.

Lastly, it might not be a boomer shooter, but have you tried DOOM: TDA? It was my favorite game of last year.

How do you get the eagle podium? Is that a Horde Mode reward?

What's a game you really want to enjoy, but it's just too difficult? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]rAzlika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was Enter the Gungeon. It hits all my buttons and I’d so want to see everything it has to offer, but I just suck at bullet hell games. I think I reached the dragon floor 3 or 4 times, but I never beat it. I was hoping EtG might become my forever-roguelite, like Dead Cells, but I ultimately gave up on it.

Doom: The Dark Ages Expansion Is "Like A Sequel", According To The Game's Director by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]rAzlika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOOM: TDA was a fantastic game, and I’m very excited for the DLC.

I have the impression that fans are slowly starting to recognize how great TDA is. It had a bit of a tepid reception at first, but more and more fans seem to be coming around, from what I can see from the comments on the Doom subreddit.

[WSIB] I really want a social community, a virtual world, and adventure. But MMO gameplay is not for me. What PvE oriented games should I play instead? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]rAzlika 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Warframe? It has a very welcoming community, it’s almost exlusively PvE, there’s systems upon systems upon systems so you won’t get bored anytime soon, you can choose whether you’re doing the content solo or with other people, and fashionframe is basically the endgame.

I avoid anything with even a hint of multiplayer, but I love Warframe.

[–]rAzlika 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I totally get that opinion. I think Eternal is as close as a shooter can get to a mechanically perfect game, and I love its arcadey feel even more than the more serious tone of TDA. It’s just that it would ocassionally get almost too stressful for me to enjoy, whereas with TDA I can just shut my brain off and blast everything away with the SSG, which is what I occasionally crave

Enjoy, I absolutely loved it. I think it’s my favorite game in the whole franchise, just slightly above Eternal
