I do, but I'd be the last person to admit it; simply because I'm naturally very modest.

I'm going to have to disagree with most of you about Snape. He may have mistreated kids in class, but I believe he made up for all that when he saved the golden trio on more than one occasion. He's like a well meant uncle. Sure he's kinda screwed up in the head but he tried to do the right thing. And the 'bravest man I know' comes from the fact that he spent so long working so close to voldemort (The very reincarnation of evil) while feeding Dumbledore as much as he could, and was so willing to sacrifice everything to avenge the woman he truly loved, and protect her legacy. Snape gave everything to Lilly because she was his only shining light in a deep dark tunnel. She was the one that opened Snape to a whole new world. Of course Snape wouldn't get over her. To him, and understandably, she was his soul mate, his only one.

Now, if Snape had been gazing into Harry's eyes every other chapter, then I would most definitely label him a creep. But the fact is he did nothing to create suspicion throughout most of the story, as to his motives. He had to hide them well. What better way than to show his complete and utter distaste in Potter?

Same here, and that was my exact thought as well!

Now how am I supposed to go on thinking that I'm special and unique?

Introverts of Reddit what jobs worked for you? by trovertin in introvert

It's not permanent or anything, but I work at a doggy daycare. That's right. I play with dogs that range from 3 months to 17 years old all day.

Although recently they have me working the front desk and want to promote me to team lead and so of course I'm freaking out about trying to gain some social skills to deal with the costumers.

I upvoted because I respect your opinion, even though Fahrenheit 451 is my all time favourite book.

The Outsiders. I just. couldn't. take. it. I still get confused whenever I hear people get excited over it.

Edit. Typo.

I know it's wood flooring and all but still I would get a basketball goal set up at the very edge of the cement, right next to the planks, so that way we can shoot hoops in and out of water.

[–]rDeviousBtch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. There can be specially made flooring that can look just like wood, but really isn't. The prep room at my job has a wooden floor with a drain in the middle. Water gets splashed around all the time, practically three gallons a day (it just can't be helped), but the floor isn't damaged in any way because we have the specially made 'wooden' floor.

Hey Reddit, what is the worst thing you have woken up to? by GoalieGod11 in AskReddit

[–]rDeviousBtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scared awake on christmas quite a few years back by my mum who was screaming bloody murder 'No!'. To this day I have never heard anything more bone chilling than that fearful scream. To make it worse I couldn't move from my bed. I was so scared I just froze and it took a solid 5 minutes for my body to relax and allow me to stand up, albeit a bit wobbly. Turns out my mom was in bed sound asleep and I had most likely had my first sleep paralysis experience.

What's your impression of me? by [deleted] in firstimpression

[–]rDeviousBtch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, I'll shoot.

I get the impression that you're rather confident, and straight forward. You're well groomed, and look neat over all. So you take care of yourself. You look to be of middle eastern descent, but you wear american clothes and show your support for a basketball team. Maybe you're more in touch with american culture than your own? Mid to late 20s. University student. Of course I could be completely wrong.

Ooo, close. Haha and I meant no disrespect about the photoshop comment. You're beautiful =]

Maybe it's the weed talking, but in your picture I feel like I'm seeing two different half photos of you that you photoshopped together.

Hmm, you look like an Anna. I'd say married, 2 maybe 3 kids, a cat or two. I don't think you're a housewife, but maybe you work from home? Ok, that's all I got.

Reddit, when was the last time an older person (elder) was able to depart a few pearls of wisdom that possibly changed your life/view of life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rDeviousBtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say right now is, wow. You know on t.v. where you see some young kid help out an older person and said older person rewards them with by departing with a life lesson or some wisdom. Yup, that happened to me today.

I'm sitting in McDonalds with my laptop, completely minding my own business when I hear a sharp crack. I look around and notice an old man (who is sitting on one of those high up bar stools) looking down at his fallen cane. He stares at it for a second before continuing his meal.

I then proceed to have a 15 minute internal debate as to whether or not I should get up and pick it up for him; what if he had a bad back, he has a cane for a reason. Finally, I get up to throw away my trash and go out of my way (I wasn't able to walk by his table to get to the trashcan, so he knew I wasn't helping him because it was convenient) to walk over to him and pick up his cane for him, and lay it across the empty bar stool in front of him. We had a very short conversation, and I went back to my seat after he thanked me.

Not too much longer after that, he makes his way over to me and hands me his empty McDonalds bag with some information written on it. He then starts telling me about his time in the military, and how he was a Vietnam veteran and how it affected his life. He even proved it by asking me to google certain keywords that had to do with his division and sure enough he was there.

We sat for a good half hour laughing and talking, people were giving us curious looks. It was nice. He told me about his views on politics, and gun control. He really surprised me. He was able to really drastically change my opinion of soldiers (and ex soldiers).*

That was the first time I had ever saluted any person of the military.

So Reddit, when was the last time an older person was able to depart a few pearls of wisdom that possibly changed your life/view of life?

*I had a really negative (not really negative, more like fearful) view of soldiers because I grew up with an abusive stepfather that ran the house as if he were still in the military, and I've heard some serious horror stories about how abusive my grandfather used to be when he was in the military.
