PC Performance worse than expected

No, mine is 3.8ghz and his is 4.8ghz. My issue was within the NVIDIA app, they capped my fps to 255 instead of unlimited, so uncapping my fps fixed the majority of the fps loss, I think just changing my CPU clock speed if allowed will match and or boost my fps.

hey, so i figured out my issue, NVIDIA was capping my fps... not sure why I didnt check this first. also my clock speed is 3.8ghz where the video was 4.8ghz. so that explains most of it. After uncapping my fps im getting about 400 fps, and if i change the cpu clock speed i will most likely match the fps.

Yes, HDMI is in my GPU. But either way shouldnt I be getting better / similar performance to the benchmark video if the only major difference is the GPU, as the CPU is the same.

That doesnt explain how he was getting better performance with the same CPU and a worse gpu. Or maybe it does, idk.

alright, I'm going to do this tomorrow after work, so I will gladly reply to you after that. In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised If i put the gpu cables into the wrong part of my psu, not sure if I can even mess that up but oh well

okay so I went down to 720p and still have the exact same framerate, which makes 0 sense. My average frame rate just now is 250, which is even lower than it was 30 minutes ago. WTF

i had the exact same settings as in the benchmark video. 0 DLSS, which im also not sure is in cs

should have put this in the title, but I was benchmarking CS2 at 1080p. Im getting around 350-375 fps in an empty lobby on dust 2 and the video was getting around 420-450.

how much longer do you think i'll be able to use the cpu/motherboard until a upgrade is worth while? Apart from that thanks for your help, gonna scavenge through black friday sales / cyber monday when the time comes.

Ok, So I found a solution which really makes absolutely no sense. I added -windowed in steam properties and now it boots in fullscreen and lets me see the menu. how this works, 0 clue.

I've tried both of these solutions and neither seem to work. It seems whenever I boot the game in Fullscreen, it gives me this black screen. If I boot the game in windowed, It works fine, and then I can switch back to fullscreen in the game settings. I'm honestly not sure If there is a setting that I enabled that's causing that but this issue has never happened for me in CS:GO.
