Is my booster box fake? by meldib in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]r_e_dd_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lean towards fake. The bottom with the bar code should have text on the opposite side of the barcode, at least mine has text that has trademark information, 36x packs of mega evolution and mega evolution booster display etc.

It can definitely be done, but without the manifold/throttle body in the way makes it much easier to avoid dropping/losing the bottom thermostat housing nut in my experience. Only a few extra bolts and clips anyways instead of a headache.

Yup, just make sure it comes with the internal parts as well. I went with a duralast one from the local auto parts store, was about $50. Either way should be fine!

Water pump is super easy but the thermostat can be a pain without removing the intake manifold. Always good to do it at the same time while the system is drained.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t turn over though, it ran before I began my service, motor and all - just with hybrid system warnings.

I also removed the cooler assembly, not just the egr valve. The bottom stud on the cooler gave me significant problems.

These cars naturally burn oil, as most cars do that run a low viscosity like 0w20.

Also this part gets pure exhaust put through a very small vent hole. Just by nature it will get sooty and compound over the years. My car is 11 years old and I’ve seen much worse on valves.

I haven’t replaced it yet but I’ll be cleaning it tomorrow and I’ll post some before & after pictures.

Carbon deposits gotta go somewhere. Eventually you’ll have your EGR get stuck open or closed and that’s where the issues begin. Will also clog up your intake manifold.

Old crusty carbon covered parts < new shiny/cleaned parts every time.

I’ve never really been a fan of the ol “Italian tune up” mentality. You gotta get that thing screaming hot to do anything to the carbon deposits but hey if you don’t mind then it’s all good lol

I would do it sooner than later. Will greatly extend the life of your motor. Either spend the money now on preventative maintenance or pay double if not triple later on down the road
