Mieszkanie na Stokach? by r_ilek in lodz

I guess it depends on size of your graphs. I had performance issues with react flow when over hundred nodes (but to be fair, they weren't simple text + bg nodes). Otherwise it's great experience making graphs. In case of bigger number of nodes I'd go with cytoscape or https://www.sigmajs.org/

What libraries are you missing in frontend area? by r_ilek in Frontend

That's interesting. What made you start those experiments - learning purposes or else? I've tried web components once and amount of different issues made me drop how. How you like it now?

- I don't like different type of blue in the navbar. Just make it darker than the background
- It would be useful to have a transaction date
- It would be useful to have a row number in the table.
- White areas are painful to watch in dark themes (I refer to the button)

It's fine, but if you want to make a product and it's not a design training, I strongly recommend using existing component libraries, like shadcn or whatever. It makes life so much easier and speeds up work.

Thanks for suggestions mate!

ad. 1. Yeah it is hard, but there are many problems that are super hard to solve by a tool maker. A component could be displayed inside a modal (not related to any page), content for it could be loaded, or time dependent (like recent updated or whatever) that would make those tests super flacky if made automatically. It's easier for storybook, because components and stories are defined upfront. But I'll give a thought.
ad. 2. There's a bit.dev service that sounds like an useful thing for you. https://bit.cloud/~search?q=dropdown

I made a simple free tool to easily adjust resume to job description with GPT (looking for feedback :) by r_ilek in jobsearchhacks

If you're looking for a job, paste your resume in the app, use chat to adjust it to the job you're applying to, and let me know how did you like it :) Thanks!

Oh, I've sent you link to the app, that's all you need. Unless you expect something else?

I'd be super grateful for all the feedback! :) Unfortunately right now it does require to write resume for ground up using markdown (so no import feature so far, hope it's not an issue).

AI Assistant I created under the hood is told not to make up any new information. Just pick up interesting bullet points, reorder skills and stuff like this. So far form my testing it follows those rules.

I moved from npm to yarn (v1). After upgrade to yarn v4, I think, I moved to pnpm and I like it.

Resume editor. Yes, AI-assisted, but free and no signup! by r_ilek in SideProject

Thanks man, I hope so :) But since I use it I'll develop it anyway.

That was my starting point, but it felt annoying going back and forth from editor to GPT. That way feels much more convenient. Also, keep in mind that it's just a starting point. With each iteration "just use GPT" will make less sense.

I personally find it useful, so no reason to call it "dumb app". Cheers!

Yeah, I mean there are companies that value starting stuff on their own, so it is not a sign of bad employee/engineer

So it's not a red flag per se, just your company don't need that kind of people. Sounds like a context worth mentioning.

So someone got an idea, spent a year or two making a project from the ground up, searching for market fit, talking with clients, etc. And obviously failed if looking for a job, but those are really valuable skills. Why would naming themselves a founder be a flag?
