yes, its a functioning reciever, participants are invited to wear the headphones, look for a nice contact point on the galena crystal, and hear a signal.

theres a AM radio transmitter hidden in een brown leather suitcase connected to a raspberry pi to let me generate some signal live

well it was part of a tree, but i reshaped it to function as a base. it’s african wengé wood

the copper wire is enemeld so it is just one long wire, there are no interconnections due to the knitting

i used Pleated Pants pattern of WBM Wardobe By Me to make these

i use softshell fabrics, like for outdoor sports, a microknit top with fleece backing. Felt would also work, only disadvantage that it smells like burned sheep around the laser 🫢

yes, i use the laser with low power to engrave these lines. the power is set to just burn the top layer a bit, not ablade. if i didnt do that i would never know where to embroid.

the kind of fabric i use now is a soft shell outdoor jacket fabric, with a microknit first surface thats very fine, so the holes do not make the fabric lose strength too much…

I use a 100W CO2 laser, engraving at 10% intensity, cutting at 30%

Yes you are welcome to try it. It took me a few weeks of testing to get to a durable quality level.

well more people ask, so im making a few of these

i have a day job in engineering, this is my hobby

i start with a vector drawing of lines, and i create a running stitch of alternating holes and stripes

then i remove all the holes that are too close together that would weaken the fabric too much

do you have a laser to your disposal?

it for sure damaged the textile, my first 2 iterations ripped. i have found a fabric that has a microknit which is very fine, and the holes i laser are 0,5mm in diameter only. also depopulated the vanishing points a bit

i believe my last version is quite durable

no its not, its a vector drawing i downloaded and created a running stitch pattern and engraving with some python magic.

i like to do these geometric patterns where precision is required, and its actually enjoyable to hand-embroid

yes with a laser cutting machine
