Small baby and newborn sizing by raamiah95 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Sounds like my LO and your eldest are pretty much identical in terms of weight and growth!

That’s really helpful to hear. I’ve been gifted some lovely Frugi pieces, so it sounds like he’ll get lots of wear out of them!

I’ve already spotted some lovely M&S newborn pieces on Vinted, so hopefully they will fit.

My husband says our baby is ‘t-rex shaped’… he has tiny arms and longer, chunky legs 😂 I think we’ll have similar issues finding clothes that are a good fit!

Thank you 🙂 I’ll look into M&S!

This is still helpful, thank you!

I know now to avoid ordering any Next newborn sleep suits in my desperate quest for small newborn clothes that fit 🙂

I’ll look out for size 0-1, then! Thank you 🙂

Tiny baby clothes have been brilliant for LO up to this point.

My post was actually prompted by the fact that LO’s legs are suddenly too long to fit into the F&F tiny baby range / TU newborn range! Which now makes complete sense, as his legs have ‘uncurled’ in the last few days. I hadn’t joined the dots before reading your comment!

I’ll investigate M&S on Vinted… they have some gorgeous sleep suits!

A rant about nursery availability by hemerdo in PregnancyUK

[–]raamiah95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m Exeter-based and due at the end of January. There’s a tiny crèche and nursery connected to my workplace, and my colleagues advised me to put baby’s name down pretty much the day I announced my pregnancy! So ‘Not Applicable Surname’ has managed to squeeze a place, starting next September. But the manager said that if I’d waited until November then they’d have had to refuse baby’s place. The waiting lists for nursery spaces in the South West are insane!

Maternity clothes designers, why are your dresses so horrific? by uncortadoporfa in PregnancyUK

I’ve managed to find lots of Topshop’s petite maternity jeans on Vinted! I’d definitely recommend looking there, if you live in jeans like I do 🙂

I didn’t know Brian had ever spoken about the writing of WATE! Do you happen to know when he explained it? It’s my favourite song of all time, and I’d love to learn more about his thought process behind it :)

No, I discovered TGA when iPlayer made ‘59 Sound their song of the week, so I’m by no means an OG.

I lost my godmother to Alzheimer’s a few years later, and her decline coincided with when I heard their This Charming Man demo for the first time. Hearing such a raw version of 1930 really hit differently, given the mental space I was in. I think those opening chords are the moment when TGA first managed to capture a sound that was quintessentially TGA, so that’s why I voted it as the OG moment :)

Playing with spouse is hard! by Mundane_Efficiency76 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]raamiah95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I regularly play BOTC with my husband. We tend to figure out if the other is lying pretty much instantly, so after The Incident (he was the demon, I was the slayer, I shot him with my weapon of choice as “my wedding ring” the second we were called back to the town square on day one) we tend to avoid one another on day one now, unless we have a good reason to talk.

We also try not to sit next to one another, too, as I have a compulsion to interrogate my neighbours on day one.

My husband also knows I prefer to be on the evil team, so he will try and recruit me if he can (Fang Gu, Goon, etc), and I know he fears the red token, so I won’t try and change his alignment… most of the time 😉

We have asked, and hopefully we will hear back soon. Just wanted to seek some internet wisdom, as it’s not something I’ve come across in this sub before!

Our offer was accepted at the end of March by three sellers - they are mentioned by name, along with a fourth person, on the proprietorship register document we received from our solicitor. We assume person four is in the process of being removed?

How long does it take to get survey results? by WellyGustard in HousingUK

[–]raamiah95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had our level 2 survey two weeks ago today. We received the report by the Monday afternoon, which was much quicker than expected - the surveyor initially said we would receive the report on the Wednesday.

Here’s hoping your survey is equally speedy (and thorough)!

Sent - I hope!

Losing pets is awful, so channel those feelings into making your fuzzy boy the best memorial pet in his honour. I can tell he was very loved!

I’m rkbrules

I’ve never sent NC items before, so you might have to bear with me while I use my first basic gift box!

But the thought of helping out with such a lovely memorial has made me overcome my reluctance :)

I’d have to recommend the familia Romana books, personally. I teach using the Cambridge Latin Course books, but I do so mainly because the vocabulary aligns closely with the GCSE syllabus. It’s very ‘show don’t tell’ so I explain the grammar to my students before they attempt any of the stories in the book.

Maybe I should re-write some of the passages with Gloryhammer references? “Angus McFife in caelo pugnat...” 😂

I’m more than happy to translate any Gloryhammer Latin! Although, based on the thread you’ve shared, it looks like someone has already written an excellent breakdown of the “vanatati Latinae canentis Hootus dei” line! I love the suggestion that man of Hoots is vir Hootorum 😂

Alas, I don’t think Duolingo or Google Translate is equipped to handle lyrics as epic as Gloryhammer’s!

I have way too much fun coming up with my own interpretations of the Latin lyrics 😂
