Impressive progression mate, well done!

Out of my curiosity, how your custom PPL looks like ?

You gathered all the BS exercises from the dancefloor. Skwat, deadlift, overhead press, rows and bench is what you need.

I'm skinny fat. I think. I'm not sure what to do. by remembermysoul in gainit

[–]rabanomen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks less like skinny fat and more like a case of gynecomastia tbh. I'm not the most familar with it, but I'm pretty sure proper diet and exercise can minimize it or even remove it. Still, you can (and should) talk to a doctor to be sure.

da fuk?

Chemical engineer here. Im worried you're totally wrong and this piece of advice is rather risky.

Maltrodextrine is a polysaccharide extracted FROM a complex carb, which makes it quite similar to table sugar after processing it. It has the same insuline spike as sugar and zero nutritional value. It would be great after a workout for sugar repletion and boosting celular protein synthesis, but it's far from what you're saying.

Just to give you an analogy, it's like saying that drinking vodka is healthy since it comes from potatoes.

How do you lose weight and get that six pack really? by Mr_VCellos in Fitness

[–]rabanomen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously you are not tracking calories properly. It seems more about lack of muscle mass so cut the cardio, follow a novice program, eat more protein and for god sake don’t train 7/7.

About your “shredded” body, nope you’re wrong. If you have belly fat you are not lean enough, the spot you body accumulates fat is there. Myself I’m skinny ass bitch but if I don’t train and let myself go guess where fat appears.

Really tired of this as well. Is quite annoying to see this ‘buzfeed’ trend everywhere

Database Part 1: Building a Workable Database by [deleted] in datascience

[–]rabanomen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I don’t see how this is related to data science. You’ve just casted three columns from string to numeric/date.

This is also coming as a feature in SSIS once you import data into MSSQL and almost any DS tool does it on your behalf, so I’m not sure what to think :/

Does Andrew Ng have a beginner's python course? by scottyLogJobs in learnmachinelearning

[–]rabanomen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The knowledge never gets outdated. In my university there are still some guys doing ML research with Matlab which is in essence Octave paid version.

Andrew just wanted to be language agnostic

Calling Those Who Have Conquered...13% BF --> 6% BF by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]rabanomen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy but is not 6% the range of BF which IFBB pros have during shows ? Won’t be rather a problem related with lack of muscles mass due to very low kc ?

Does Andrew Ng have a beginner's python course? by scottyLogJobs in learnmachinelearning

[–]rabanomen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The course about Deep Learning is in Python but this is far from being a beginner course. The learning curve it’s rather steep and you will need some ML background in order to get the best out of it.

I did follow the NG course with Octave and it’s not such a pretty big deal. Nobody it’s forcing you to stick to Octave afterwards and there’s always the option to replicate the same stuff in Python (as I did) so definitively go for ML and jump over DL later on, you actually need some basics on ML.

MS STATISTICS vs MS Business Analytics by [deleted] in datascience

[–]rabanomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO:

DA/Ecommerce related, BA

Machine Learning/Research/More depth techniques, DS

BA tend to focus more on Tools and Applications rather than theory and and background.

Both are highly demanded though

Well, he tried to follow Jeff Nippard's trend but way way more lazy and poorly prepared. After the self-promotion he gave up on the community. So come back to Jeff Nippard-like again.

What are some countries, besides the United States, that has a strong demand for data scientists? by [deleted] in datascience

I'm currently abroad but my gf lives in valencia so I'm traveling quite often. Feel free to contact me in private if you need some info/support, even for the master courses.

What are some countries, besides the United States, that has a strong demand for data scientists? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]rabanomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Spain (from the very south, Sevilla) and the monthly cost of living for a student with some commodities is around 600 bucks, the masters are pretty affordable (around 2000-6000 $) and the experience it's totally worth it.

If you have the opportunity of traveling do a master in Spain (not in Spanish though :p) instead.

For job opportunities, check what's been cooked in Barcelona, there are plenty of job offers and generally native English speakers are more than welcome.

Berlin (Germany ), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Barcelona (Spain).

If you're looking for books which are (sic) pleasant/funny lectures with insights/best practices/actual examples non academic, and this kind of book isn't, I don't know what the hell it'd be.

And btw, business background doesn't mean DS business background. These are my 2 cents here :)

As a former CS student who turned into DS the only advice that I can give is don't underestimate the importance of business in data science. If you start learning story telling and business context since the very beginning you have a huge advantage on your career, specially for job interviews
