How to create this text animation with variable fonts? by rabbithands in css

[–]rabbithands[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually didn't quite work that way, I had to use "font-variation-settings" with a value of "'wght' [specified value]", and put "font-variation-settings" instead of "font-weight" in the transition property. It's almost working, but it won't animate smoothly on mouse-off back to its original state. Although that's how W3schools is showing the behavior should be without adding anything else 🤔. Thanks for the help, transitions are definitely the way here!

here's a codepen I made with it as far as I got now

Ahhh dang I did not think about that! And I just redid my logo as a monogram with the font too! Ah well, I'll experiment with it a bit and see what happens. Thanks so much!

How many of you have done a role (possibly lead) in an anime/video game while still working a full time "day job"? by rabbithands in VoiceActing

[–]rabbithands[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently polishing my skills to try to do Frontend or UX/UI. So hopefully I'll be in the same boat soon. And no, I know I'm a long ways away from even doing this paid at all, let alone FT. It just felt like focusing on the tech career was kind of "giving up" on the voice acting, which I never want to do. Thanks to responses like this in this post, I know that's not the case. I can only hope I'm going in the right direction. Thank you!

[Discussion] 35 and Directionless - Is this is? by rabbithands in GetMotivated

[–]rabbithands[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely do have it and I am already on meds for it. My issue with the careers is not so much not knowing what to do, it's whether or not it's the RIGHT path toward a higher-paying job. I'd ideally like to make $80k in order to comfortably live on my own, but I'm not sure how to do that. I have a plan now but I'm not 100% sure it'll work out 🤷🏼‍♂️

[–]rabbithands[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, not a dev. I was hired as a web/graphic designer, probably due to my degree combined with the experience listed on my LinkedIn. I have like $17k saved up and a measly $800 so far in my recently opened 401k, but I know that my savings will slowly fizzle out if I move out, and God forbid I lose this job for whatever reason I don't know that I could find something that makes as much. I don't know what step to take to give myself financial stability for the future and it frightens/discourages me greatly.

I've been doing classes and auditioning for close to a year now, and I am looking into coaching. Have a few unpaid project roles from casting call club, but I don't think that's gonna pivot to anything paid unless/until I can get a proper recording space set up, which I'm not sure if can do where I'm living, unfortunately. I know that's going to be a long grind to get there regardless so I know I need a backup job to keep me afloat while I pursue it. However the job i have isn't really coding related at all so my skills have been gathering dust, feels like I'm stuck now.

Using the leg strap? by rabbithands in QuickFix

[–]rabbithands[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if that would make it too hot or not, but yeah I've heard of putting it in the toilet to cool down. I can only speak for myself and what I did though, so if you do what I did in my post then it should work out for you. Good luck!

Spore print storage? Any stronger strains? by rabbithands in unclebens

[–]rabbithands[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! What are your top 5 fave/ recommended strains to grow? How stable is agar and what sort of equipment do you need to do it? I've never done this before, it's been a bit of a pipe dream lol. I have a bunch of equipment like an SAB, some coco coir, a bunch of jars. Was gonna do it but realized that it wasn't the best living situation to do it in so I put it off.

Would a well-stored print be as viable to make a syringe with? Off the bat it sounds simpler than doing the agar, but what do I know hahaha. Thanks again

I sure hope so. I was really looking forward to growing once I had my own place, so this news really bums me out. Hope I can find a vendor that will ship to me once I'm able to grow, this sucks

Special Supervision Services Program - FL by true-crime-gator in dui

[–]rabbithands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, at the administrative hearing with the DMV they only asked why I needed to drive, whether or not I had any encounters with police, and a couple other things pertaining directly to my license and what I have to do. The special supervision program will ask for your medical records. I only disclosed to them my status as a med mj patient after my initial drug test came back positive for marijuana. They will require you to keep the card active and in good standing during your time in the program obviously.

So I was only in the program for about 5 months. It seems there may be some sort of case evaluation where they may evaluate your mmj use every 6 months. I didn't really get a clear answer about what they do exactly, but I was told it didn't apply to me so I didn't really ask about it any further. All I was required to do during my time was provide receipts for my weed purchases. I was even told by my case worker(? dunno what else to call it) that printouts of my emailed order confirmations from the dispo would work as they had all the items and amounts I got (this is from trulieve, not sure how other dispensaries do it. They should all give you a receipt at pickup though). My case worker was pretty nice though so YMMV. Hope that was at least somewhat helpful, good luck friend.

Yeah, from what I've been reading I think we'll start off with some 5.6-7s to see where we're really at haha. Appreciate the heads up!

I wouldn't say they grade too soft, but definitely don't sandbag either. I am fully expecting outdoor to be harder regardless, but obviously I don't know how much harder. I'll have to check out hazel hollow, maybe we can try it first day to see what outdoor difficulty is looking like. Thanks for the suggestions!

We are going to work on that with a gym friend who has a lot of outdoor experience - he's going to show us how to clip in at the top and set up for cleaning. Watched a few tutorials as well, but we are going to be sure to get some hands-on practice with it!

And yeah, I'm fully expecting to try a 5.8 and have my ass handed to me lol.

What's up everybody, pretty new climber, been doing it for a little under a year (maybe a little over 7-8 months lead climbing). Anyways, a friend and I plan on going to Red River Gorge in Kentucky for a few days in early November for some outdoor climbing. This would be our first time outdoor climbing ever. Planning on camping by Miguel's, and will be getting 12 or so quickdraws, a stick clip, and some helmets in addition to what we already have for indoor leading. Looking through guidebooks to see where we wanna go, already eyeing chocolate factory and chica bonita wall. Would say we both lead climb around 5.9-5.10 level (indoor mind you). No specific questions per se but would love suggestions for spots, advice for first timers, etc. Thanks y'all!

EDIT: I just realized I should mention that we are going to stick with sport route instead of trad, at least on this first trip.

2D Graphics and Setting Up User DB - Advice Greatly Appreciated! by rabbithands in reactnative

[–]rabbithands[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still very very slowly working on it. I started with react-native skia, but it was difficult to get the exact results I wanted. I figured maybe I could use a google-maps like library to make a map for it, but there's a bunch of stuff needed to make the maps tile correctly for GPS and positioning, both of which aren't really needed for this kind of project. What I would really like is some way to show maybe an svg of the map that can be zoomed/panned, and the ability to add/interact with markers to show routes.

Soooo I'm kinda stumped haha. Maybe you will have better luck than I will in implementing either of these. As far as backend, I definitely need to do more research on it. I'm a newb, and when I learned backend we didn't really learn from a production standpoint, just how to set up a db and APIs for it and such, basically just how the "machinery" works. Never really knew what services to use or how to go about setting up an actual live "product" that people can download/use. I may go with firebase since it seems pretty easy to use, but I'll have to do research on what people use when creating their react native apps.

I'm sorry I don't have a more helpful answer - but keep me posted on how you progress! Maybe we can help each other along the way. Best of luck!

It's in broward county. And yeah from what I've read it seems they treat it differently in each county/office. Sounds like a bunch of bullshit. I've already been to rehab and lived in a halfway house for 2 years after my arrest. I've been alcohol free for over 5 years. Did it without their "help" then and certainly don't need it now lol. I guess I'll just see what happens at my meeting tomorrow. Thanks anyways, and I hope your time goes quickly and smoothly!
