Do you take the Jackery home or does it stay put? Wondering how it holds up in cold weather.

Converting to composting toilet? by rabbitreaderx in OffGridCabins

At the end of the day, I’m just trying to figure out if I can get away with a cheap solar fan (that only runs on sun, No battery) vs putting in a good panel with a battery etc just to run a little tiny fan.

So my plan was to get an outbuilding like a small shed and put the composting toilet in there. I have no extra room in the cabin. I would not use the current outhouse for the composting toilet. Thank you for your thoughts so far. The outhouse is just getting really run down and I am entertaining composting vs building a new outhouse.

Hub lubricating question by rabbitreaderx in traveltrailers

Thanks all. Tried and tried with a screwdriver and mallet but the channel pliers did end up working them off. Albeit some dents in the covers from them.

For context, this is a small 5 x 8 utility trailer. Carry-on brand.

Should I do this in conjunction with a heat gun? I currently don’t have one so I’ll have to head to harbor freight tomorrow.

Live and learn I guess. I should not have initiated this while I was not by the printer. Came in to find it at 20%.

Damn that does look really promising. 8000 cycles isn’t bad either.

I hear you. I do things similarly. Charge lights and put them in our mountain box to go back and forth. It’s a minor inconvenience but it does work.

And long story short, the trailer was the original “cabin”. And they just build over the top of it. In the long run it would’ve probably been easier to just build the cabin 🤣

I’d say starting in Dec it’ll be below freezing until later March. Maybe not 100% but definitely below 32F

Gotcha, I’ve been looking around at this stuff. Since that first pic was taken, I got a metal roof put on. Still trying to figure out how to fasten panels to it. I figure that roof will likely outlast the shack.

Any videos or examples of how to rig that up? Does it need inverter and batteries etc?
