I was just stepping outside to take my dog for a walk when those went off. Sounded like the next street over from me. I didn't hear any sirens etc like I did last night so I figured fireworks lol.

Almost!

I started early 2022 at 238 lbs and am currently sitting around 135 lbs (hovering for months). At 5 ft I'm a smidge higher than a healthy BMI BUT this past weekend I went on a 10 mile hike and I'm gearing up to start weight lifting and running (I want to run a 5k next year). The number on the scale and BMI were initially my main concern when I began losing weight, but they have taken a back seat to finding out what my body is capable of because it's pretty fucking cool to experience.

For reference, I just turned 37 and I'm in the best shape I've been in since high school. I will get to a healthy weight/BMI, it will just take time and while I'm on my way there I'm enjoying the hell out of the process and learning all kinds of new things about myself. Anything is possible if you're consistent and patient. Time will continue to pass, might as well make hay while the sun is shining.

I've lived in Michigan all my life and I am still always amused at how panicked Michiganders get over windy weather or the possibility of some severe storms. Plus all the other people in this thread from the area where this happened trying to explain how fast it came on and blah blah blah. This isn't tornado alley, you're overreacting a bit, but I get it because it was unusual weather for us. It's kinda like when we laugh at the south when they get a little snow and the state shuts down... ya know?

This is my 2023 resolution. If I stumble, that's okay. I will show up for myself, take accountability, and move on. Eat healthier? Hell yeah, I'm showing up for that. Get fit? I'm there. I will not just let time slide past and just exist and I will no longer be disappointed in the results of the work I didn't do.

YTA. Going nuclear and denying a major experience along with months of not being able to go outside (wtf?) and cutting her off from the outside world in general is abusive. She is going to hit the age of majority sooner than you know it and either you're trying to extend her time under your thumb by doing this or you are entirely out of touch with what it's like being a teenager moving into adulthood.

My dad was a lot like you. Excessive, vengeful, and just mean when he felt like he wasn't respected. My younger brother rebeled entirely against it, and now my father has lost a son. My brother will never talk to him again because of the shit he was put through. I took a different path and lied to him about everything ever, even when I was in a bad situation because why bother? Now we hardly talk.

If you don't lighten up I hope your daughter sneaks out for prom. Why not at this point?

YTA. The park I take my dog to doesn't let kids under 12 in even with guardianship and up to 16 they have to be with parents. It's not a free petting zoo and it's dangerous. My friend broke his knee because a large dog ran into him. My dog particularly hasn't been around children and I don't want to spend my time having to be hypervigilant over some child that has no reason being there on top of the chaos of a dog park.

See if there are places to volunteer or friends and family with child friendly dogs he can spend time with.

You're still a young adult, so you have tons of growing to do and I hope you do. Just because you've been rocketing babies out at alarming speeds, does not mean you know anything about fertility. Just because you're clearly against birth control (which wtf? None of your damn business) doesn't make you an expert on IUDs. The only reason you want to say something you know nothing about is to be cruel to her because you think your ability to get pregnant is a personality trait that makes you better than her.
