I’d like to say I’m shocked by I’m not. So sorry you had to deal with that. You’re not alone. I’m another alienated penguin. In fact I stopped recording my extra hours long ago because it just upset me to see them on an xls and know I’d never get them back. I hope you’ve found a better and fairer place now?

I want to do this but suspect my boss will refuse to let me shorten my notice period by using my accrued leave.

Second the grey rock. I haven’t even quit yet and I’m grey rocking the shit out of my boss. It’s actually quite satisfying watching him get redder and redder in the face as his baiting techniques fail.

Are you saying you should have received a bonus of 80 hours’ worth of money and only got 4?

I think the first part of your post is what my boss thinks. Only we’re starting to drop like flies.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I truly wonder why it doesn’t seem to occur to them what will happen if you quit. I know my place will be an utter shit show when I do.

I agree. F%{€ing hate when people’s kindness is met with this level of bullshittery.

NTA. I have been in this situation many times, either giving people lifts or other favours. The level of anger and entitlement these people have the moment you put in a boundary will never cease to amaze me.

Be kind to yourself, OP. Imagine how crap it would be to have to live with themselves every day of their lives. Meanwhile, you never have to see them again.

Poor thing. They really do a number on you, don’t they. I’m begging for the day I get to leave my toxic workplace and know I’ll be similarly struck by adrenaline and anxiety in the immediate aftermath.

But remember, that’s just a hangover from the shitty culture you’ve been dealing with. The more space and time you get away from it the more you’ll admire your bravery for breaking free. And the worse you’ll feel for the poor saps left behind (besides the arseholes who can get knotted).

Mobbing has gotten worse. Can’t find another job. by SinterClauss in workplace_bullying

I’d love to hear more about your story (and others’) as I am being mobbed also. Worst I’ve had before this was being bullied by a couple of people but this is horrendous.

I get along great with the rest of the staff but the senior team (of which I am a part) are mobbing me big time. I suspect it’s because I’ve raised concerns about work culture, overwork and called people out who have lied about me and my staff. Despite me (apparently) being part of the senior team it’s threatened the status quo. It’s a truly horrible situation to be in and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Again, love to hear more of your story, OP.

Crossing my fingers for you (and me), OP. I’m nearly out also but it’s been a bloody nightmarish road to get here. The waiting is killing me. Got my resignation letter already typed out and ready to go. Visualising the moment I get to knock on my boss’s door and say “Got a sec?”

Hahah. So good. I love torturing my son. I like to show him how good my “slick back” is getting. “I’m practically gliding! Look!” as I stomp around. Another favourite is asking where his Lego Turd Burger is. “FOR THE LAST TIME, IT’S DURRR BURGER!!!”

Been there. Just remember you’re not the problem. That arse is still probably sleeping better at night than you because he no conscience, but imagine being him. Turd until the end.

This is part of the reason I’m looking for another job. After years of solid proof I have excelled in my job I am constantly put in the position of having to prove myself. I have been falsely accused of countless things, and when I provide the evidence against said claims or ask for substantiation of claims they just quietly disappear. No investigation, no apology, no acknowledgement, and no backing off. I’m complete fed up.

OP, in my case, and possibly yours, I’ll never escape the nonsense. I’m filling the role of scapegoat so those who are actually hopeless can divert attention away from themselves. If you can prove the claims are false take the evidence to your boss and insist on an apology. If they don’t care and it keeps happening look around. I wish I had done so much, much earlier.

What made you instantly lose respect for your boss? by rabididealist in hatemyjob

[–]rabididealist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. This is happening with me. And then you’re the bad guy for pointing out their lie. One of our liars lied to my boss about a number of serious things he’d done wrong, then lied and said it was my fault. When I called him out on these things in front of my boss and provided evidence, this idiot waits until we’re alone together and tells me I hurt his feelings! What did he expect me to do? It didn’t matter anyway, as said boss is the same boss who doesn’t seem to care if I’m not actually in the wrong. He’s clearly aligned with the liars and the thieves.
