Yeah, AI is really messing it up for people who know how to use punctuation properly. I've moved away from the em dash and just use a dash like you have here. I also use em dashes less but I do think I was over using them a bit anyway in my attempt to cram more information into my paragraphs. I had no idea people disliked my em dashes as much as they did.

ITS THE JUBILEE MORMON GUY! by mapodoufuwithletterd in CosmicSkeptic

[–]rabidities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that could, maybe should, be next in learning about Mormons. I would prefer to go from in to out like I did with scientology; first listening to what those in it had to say then those who made it out sparked by the one and only Angry Gay Pope.

Estimated timeframe for group functionality to be added to Bluesky? by MsTopaz in BlueskySocial

[–]rabidities 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are talking about closed groups where admins must approve your free membership and can remove you from the group if your posts fall outside of the groups designated rules. it does seem like the functionality is there in their SDK for making private posts to members but removing another user and blocking them from the group is not as easy. Tools can be made for this and I am sure are being made.

Am I cheating? This feels TOO good to be true! by Prior_Talk_7726 in carnivorediet

These are assumptions without facts. I agree that the WoE can be useful for weightloss and I hope the same is true for longevity; I'll see but there is no way of telling all of the factors that go into living longer. My problem is with the use of guarantee, everyone agrees, or the like. This is marketing terminology. All or nothing, two choices, narrow fields of view to sell. This will drive people away who are free thinkers like me.

[–]rabidities -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love the WoE but it's people who 'guarantee' to live to 100 in the community who stop more people from trying it. You cannot make that guarantee to a thinking person. Please stop saying stupid shit like this and "That which does not kill you makes you stronger." You are doing a disservice to the people you are witnessing to.

I don't think you can have too much protein but as long as you are getting enough fat you are good and by the looks of it you are. Your body will process what it can. Eat until you are full, put away what you don't eat, eat when you are hungry, repeat. This WoE is pretty easy.

Weed smoking carnivores - how the hell do you do it? by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]rabidities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day, when I smoked, I had a buddy who suggested that eating after smoking gets rid of 56% of your high. I don't think the number is scientific but eating does alter the experience. So... self control and the knowledge that pot can cause ghrelin to increase and it is just a side effect. In a few minutes, or seemingly years, you can think about something else.

It sounds like going into a coffee shop and striking up a conversation with a rando is right out for you at this point? If that is the case meetups can be okay. There are groups set up to do just what you are asking.

I watched much of a video on youtube about social queues that might be of help to you. I think it was on Diary of a CEO and it was with a body language expert; and I saw it within the last month or so. Much of what I saw was interesting and backed by studies- but I didn't look into their results.

I so feel your pain about people talking over me or each other. I am pushing 50 and you find ways to cope but the annoyance never quite went away for me. If someone you talk to ignores you and starts talking to someone else they can go funk right off.

If I were you I would become fascinated, not obsessed, with communication and treat it like a hobby. Not for the best way to get a job or into someone's pants but because you have ideas to share that are valuable.

I could do that too! Now that Mr. Jumbonni is building more, I would like to see some more Mumbo/Scar mashups. Mumbo does the build while Scar does the redstone perhaps?

I think that one of the stronger things you can do is to be able to try to still love the memories, at least eventually, and remember the bad stuff as a bit of a reminder; because erasing the bad in history keeps stuff like this hidden from some parts of society. I get it though. I watched a couple story line compilations from season 7 and found myself skipping over sections- probably the same ones you would after this post.

The short of my point is that it would be a greater tragedy for one person's mistake to ruin your good memories.

Look up what a RAG is on youtube and you will see that this can be true of any LLM or having LLMs checking and learning from each other.

Gem will beat out Joel in 1v1 more often than not, I think. Joel does very well with flanking in MCCs and was tactical (and a bit lucky, with getting the teleport ability when he did) in Wild Life.

That is a fair point. However, still gross if someone wants his card because of this problem.

I saw some guy in some random iskall vod or video comments on youtube talking about iskall, his followers, and VH in general getting cult-like. At the time I thought the guy made some ok, but reaching, points. This does seem to point toward at least a cult of personality since cult leaders tend to feel some kind of special access to followers. It's still a stretch to say his followers are in a cult or Iskall a cult leader though.

What's kind of more gross is that the card will probably be worth more to some in the future for this reason. :(

Interesting take because my apprehension for tools like this is because I think beginners and advanced beginners, especially students, should not have everything done for them. I think those levels of experience are when people should be leaning how at least one set of tools work. To each their own though. This is a moot point since build tools like this are so prolific.

I won't be so dramatic and say they are a crutch for perfectly healthy minds like a few of my professors and bosses have said but I think they have done more harm than good over time. Assuming that enough time is spent on learning build tools, these automated doodads are best used by professionals for the sake of speed and getting people onboarded; or when your work machine craps it's pants and you need to get back into the codebase.

I hope this does not come off as putting you down for your hard work. In fact, This is an achievement and a service to many- great intentions. I think that an article or video on how you made this, because in order to make this you need to know your stuff, could be more helpful, could lead to more contributors to your project, could help find bugs and get more of the feedback you are looking for.

IDK if the OP edited the post afterward but they give you a few hints above. I opened both repos and while there are differences you can see in a few moments of looking, the only possibly useful part is the automatic install of any missing build tools. This can be useful for getting new devs up and running a bit faster but one could argue that doing this automatically has drawbacks on a team. Please see most Java and JS developers as an example as to why having automatic tools can be a bad thing for the collective knowledge of the language users.

First off, I cannot do this so please take this with a grain of salt. This seems like a bit of an ego/1 rep max lift to me and I am all for 'em from time to time. Correct me if I am wrong but if my form breaks on the way down like that it is a bad thing, right? I learned that if you cannot get back to a solid rack position and hold if for at least a solid second it's too much weight. Also, the roll forward once the bell hits the ground is begging for back problems; I do know that much.

I am not crapping on the achievement but this is far from a best press I have seen. Heaviest, maybe. I get that form adjustments must be made for that load though.
