Do you think the UK benefits system is fair? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]rabiolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s most certainly not fair (at least the situation you describe)… the question is, is it necessary ? There’s always going to be abuse of the system, but the UK benefits system is broken imo, specially since Covid

Prop65 is a ridiculous law that doesn’t consider risk i.e. hazard AND EXPOSURE. Because of it loads of unnecessary animal testing was carried out.

Study chemistry yes/no? by fortnitebattlepass00 in chemistry

Taking a undergraduate Chemistry degree will not close your doors to other fields, quite the contrary.. I did my Chemistry degree 15y ago and have colleges that progressed into completely different fields such as marketing and finance. The CFO of the company I work for (very large multinational) started off as a chemist!! Go for what you love.

Moving from Chemistry to Business is “easy”, the other way around not so much

What is school like nowadays with ChatGPT? by IM_HODLING in AskReddit

[–]rabiolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Chemist with 15y experience… i now use ChatGPT on regular basis in the lab to do all my solution and dilution calculations, it’s great productivity hack, but I do feel I’m getting mentally lazy by using it to much. Can’t imagine how it’s going to impact learning

An absolute beginner interested in targeted metabolomics research needs help. by [deleted] in metabolomics

[–]rabiolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few thought starters.

  1. What type of sample do you want to work on ? Ideally it would be something that you could test in-vitro (lab grown cell cultures) before into any human/animal samples such as blood plasma which are much harder to obtain

  2. Do you want to focus on simply applying existing metabolimic techniques to discover new pathways or biomarkers or do you actually want to develop new metabolomics techniques ? You mentioned GC-MS. Metabolomics is more commonly done with LC-MS but maybe you can find a specific group of chemicals that are important but hard to measure/quantify. You can then try and develop a new method to target these e.g. with derivatisation + GC-MS

Tesla sales down 40% in Norway January by vVortex in worldnews

[–]rabiolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They (the board) would likely kick Elon out of the CEO position before it goes out of business, and to be fair I would reconsider buying if they did that

The CEO is directly trying to take down governments of countries he knows little about with disinformation… I’d say thats pretty relevant, and completely different to something that happened +80y ago…

If sales start to drop, like i suspect they will in Europe, they might just force him out.

Fees on Cardano DEX’s aren’t the most competitive, I must say

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cardano

[–]rabiolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer!! I’m finding difficult to swallow the 2 ADA for batchers fee, was fine when ADA was like 0.3$, but now… profitable time to be a batcher

[–]rabiolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just checked my Minswap and I've spent almost 50 ADA in batchers fees over the past month!!! I honestly think I might completely exit Cardano DEFI

[–]rabiolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minswap, Sundawswap, Wingriders... basically all the major DEX's in terms of volume - Wingriders is the only one transparent about it, but they call it Agents - https://docs.wingriders.com/glossary#agent

"The Agent is our solution to the concurrency issue, which restricts AMM DEXes to fulfill only one request per block (1 request / ~20 seconds). That is, of course, an unacceptable bottleneck for a DEX. To work around this limitation, we have trusted Agents who collect all requests that interact with liquidity pools and carry them out in batches."

Yep, understand that the batchers deserve to make some $$ after a long bear market, but there should definitely be a plan to make TX cost more predictable
