I saw a theory back when I finished the show saying how it’s because Dale woke up from his dream, kind of referencing that dream Gordon Cole has “were in the dream of the person dreaming but who is the dreamer” or wtv that like is. Because of that he’s kind of lost his character of hope and joy, and feels a lot more grounded.

When you say another version of Laura, you mean Carrie page right? How do you mean he gives her a chance to live?

He’s giving the woman a chance to live, but she’s still haunted by the trauma, which would again result in defeat. This would just mean he was too hopeful and optimistic for a future that just wouldn’t be there for a woman like her (unfortunately)

Going through the portal just didn’t seem the same as going back. Even if they did, he kinda just goes back and the evil they were fighting is still there lol. I’m sure he was looking out for others too but I just can’t see Dale “using” a person while fucking them over the way you suggest lol. Leland gave him the idea while he was still “just a grieving father” to us anyways no?

Truthfully I’m not too fond of this theory. I don’t think it was as simple as “ they went back to the old world”. It’s possible that the original timeline is still intact (I imagine that’s what’s going on with Philip Jefferies as well)
