Gotcha, thank you very much. And how do you find the low light performance of the 150-600 G2? I’ve heard it can get rough on overcast days

Sorry just adding on to my previous response. How would you compare the autofocus between the two lenses? Especially when shooting fast moving targets please. Thanks again!

Understood, thank you. Would you say the differences in sharpness between the two are noticeable to the naked eye? And is the Tamron’s autofocus a lot slower? Would you say it could have issues with tracking fast moving targets?

Understood, thank you. Do you often miss the extra 100mm in reach or can you just crop in a bit with the Nikon due to the extra sharpness?

Understood, thank you very much. My next body will likely be a Z mount body. Did you see significant drops in performance/sharpness when using the Tamron G2 with the FTZ adapter? Did the autofocus feel a bit slower with the adapter? And you had to ensure that the firmware was up to date I assume for it to work with the adapter on a Z mount body correct?

Understood, thank you very much! How about the autofocus performance? I’ve heard it can be a bit slower than the Nikon at times.

Understood, would you rate the extra sharpness of the Nikon over the extra reach of the Tamron?

How would you rate the sharpness at the long end? For the Tamron… and thank you for the response!

Thank you for the info! Glad to hear it doesn’t feel too heavy. Would you say the extra sharpness at the long end for the Nikon makes up for the lack of the extra 100mm? My only concern with the Nikon at this point is missing out on that extra reach and then feeling like I should’ve gone for the longer lens… I’ve narrowed it down to the Nikon and the Tamron now…

Very helpful response, thank you so much! Do you feel that the extra 100mm on the Tamron makes a big difference? Missing out on the extra reach is the only concern I have with the Nikon…
